It looks like Our Lady of Victory church now has its own boiler. Steam was coming out of this stack last night. The church has always been heated from the boiler in the school building. This is a good sign that the building will not be knocked down in the near future.

As we all know, The Our Lady of Victory School, along with the Rectory, was sold last May to Horizon Science Academy. Horizon Science Academy, is a tuition-free charter school that has been holding class at the school since August. They have put a lot of money into the school and has offer us a tour of the school. The tour is set up for Monday, November 20th at 6:00pm. Please let me know if you would like to attend this school tour.

On Monday, August 7th at 1PM, YOU can help us landmark Saint Adalbert Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. Come to City Council Chambers (121 N. Lasalle) for the emergency meeting of the Chicago Commission on Landmarks. The commission will be discussing giving PRELIMINARY LANDMARK STATUS to this architectural treasure of Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. Let us preserve the façade and interior for future generations as an official city landmark!

The city's landmark commission is set to discuss potentially landmarking the shuttered Catholic church at a meeting Monday.

On April 11th, the Archdiocese revoked the decree to permanently close Our Lady of Victory. While we are excited about this revocation and celebrating the news, we don’t believe this is over yet.

We would like to express gratitude to all those who helped us to get this far, through countless meetings, letters, and technical help. The entire Board of Save our Lady of Victory has contributed to this project for well over two years. We also would like to thank all those who supported us by drinking “Our Lady of Victory” beer, brewed specially by Lake Effect Brewing Company LLC 🍺

Parishioners were upset when the archdiocese decreed in 2022 that Our Lady of Victory would be deconsecrated and ‘relegated to profane use,’ but the Vatican took their side.
