A special thank you to the Wayne County Bookmobile, Applecreek Makerspace, Upward Bound Youth, and Beyond the Brush for sharing your time, talents, and resources with the families we serve.

We would also like to thank Officer Whitney Stump and Chief Rob Hartman for spending your morning with us.

Days like today remind us how many caring people are willing to step up for local families. We are grateful for each and every one of you. 💛

🎉 Congratulations to our Summer Backpack Program Prize Winners! 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Summer Backpack Program Kickoff. We loved seeing so many families come together for a morning of fun, resources, activities, and community connections.

We will resume our regular pantry hours this coming Monday, June 1st. 1-4pm on Mondays and 6-8 on Tuesdays. 148 S Milton Street in Smithville. Backpack program will kick off on Monday June 1st from 10am-12pm at the park just below the pantry building.

🚨 CONFIRMED: A suspicious broccoli has reportedly infiltrated tomorrow’s parade. 🥦👀

Witnesses describe her as:
• Loud
• Questionably supervised
• Full of chaos
• Probably dancing badly
• Possibly recruiting new vegetable supporters

Tomorrow will officially be Broc Lee’s FIRST public appearance and nobody has seen her yet. 😂💚

Smithville parade will start at 8:15 tomorrow Monday, May 25

Did you know that 100% of those working inside the pantry week after week are volunteers? These people are so dedicated in helping us serve our community one shift at a time and we could not do what we do without any of them. We love all of our volunteers.
Today we had some hiccups to start our day but we got through them quickly thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the patience of those that came out to see us. We saw a lot of new families come through and we welcome them all to our Homeplate family.
We had some downtime in-between shoppers so we took the opportunity to start packing bags for the Backpack Program which will kick off on June 1st at the Smithville park. The hours for the Backpack pick up is 10am-12pm on Mondays (beginning June 1st) and will always be held at the park to help keep things more orderly. If you signed your child up for the program you are welcome to come visit the pantry after picking up the bag for your child(ren).

Today is the day. We will be open from 1-4pm. If you have a need come see us at 148 S Milton Street in Smithville. Please use the door and parking located off Mishler Drive. 📣📣 if you have them please bring bags or boxes to carry home your food. We have some but we are definitely running low.
