Whether you’re new here or have been part of our journey for a while, we’re so glad you’re here.

Spread a Little Joy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing moments of joy, hope, and comfort to adults facing life-threatening illnesses. With your support, we’ve helped make Dreams come true and created meaningful experiences that bring light during some of life’s hardest moments.

If you’ve noticed we post less often than before, it’s because we’ve made a conscious effort to protect the privacy of our Dreamers and their families. But rest assured—we are still very much at work behind the scenes, granting Dreams and spreading joy. When we need your help to make something special happen, we’ll always reach out to this amazing community.

Your follows, likes, and shares truly matter. 💙They help us reach the people who need us most—individuals and families who may not know support like this exists.

Dreammakers, we need your input!

We are sending one of our Dreamers on a culinary experience around Kansas City.
Ken is a foodie. A self proclaimed “master of all the deliciousness the world has to offer” as he so eloquently told us.
Ken is an interesting and wise man with a quick sense of humor. One of those people you feel you could learn something from merely by listening to him talk.
He tells us that his choices of places to travel throughout his life often came down to who had the best cuisine, because that’s what made the adventures memorable for him.

Ken, who is battling a scary diagnosis and is now unable to travel, wants to experience the best Kansas City has to offer. There are no limits on types of food. He’s willing to try it all, but especially enjoys meals that are served in a place with great atmosphere.

Dreammakers-say Hi! to our Dreamer, Christina.💗
Christina, with her bright, beautiful smile is a young woman battling Stage 4 breast cancer. As a CNA, Christina is all too familiar with the toll this kind of battle can take on a person’s mind, body and spirit and yet the first thing she tells us is how lucky she is to have her supportive husband, Billy, by her side taking care of her and doing his best to give her everything she needs during this difficult time. Even with all the pain and stress, she is clearly a person who looks for the bright side in any situation. 💛

For Christina, her Dream is all about family. She wants to reunite with a sister she lost touch with and go visit her family in the New York area. In August we will be sending Christina and Billy to New York for some family and fun time!

Dreammakers-we would like to introduce you to our Dreamer, Christina.💗
Christina, with her bright, beautiful smile is a young woman battling Stage 4 breast cancer. Our Story

We offer patient driven wish fulfillment in an effort to give the patient (our Dreamers) spirit lifting, joyful experiences, while giving their families memories of a lifetime. By creating a network of supporters (Dreammakers) we hope to be able to call on people to assist whenever their particular skills or connections are needed. You never know when it might be your day to make a dream come true!

When our mother was diagnosed with terminal leiomyosarcoma cancer, she felt helpless, scared, and frustrated. We realized the only thing we could do was to help keep her spirits up, and in an effort to do so, we chose to try to fulfill as many of her wishes as we could. Through the efforts of family and friends, we were blessed to be able to make many of our mom's dreams come true. Watching her smile and laugh while she enjoyed these experiences was not only beneficial to her, it helped us as a family. We were making memories to last us a lifetime. Through our Spread A Little Joy Foundation, we now hope to pass these gifts on to others in need.

Once a year we hold Spread A Little Joy Day. A day for everyone near and far to join us in wearing the colors of hope and share their messages and photos of hope and encouragement as we show support to those battling cancer and a day to remember those we have lost.
