Bun Run for the Cure

Bun Run for the Cure 5K/10K Race and Family Event taking place in the historic and beautiful town of Smithville, Texas.

The race gives $12,000 in local scholarships each year and remaining profits benefits Komen Austin for breast cancer research and education.

It’s been a whirlwind in our house for the last month or so.....so forgive me for this update being so late.

Final numbers are in and the 9th Annual Bun Run for the Cure raised $20,000! That’s $15K to seniors and $5K to Susan G. Komen Austin !

💗This brings our totals to over $150K raised in 9 years! 💗 ($45K in scholarships to local seniors and over $110K to Komen Austin!)

Thank you to everyone who helped make this one a success-especially with the crazy monsoon weather and date change! I postponed the raffle part of the event, but that’s coming up in June, so look for that! Awesome items. The best ever, for 👏 real 👏.

No date set for the 10th Annual Bun Run for the Cure, because we’re gonna do something different and special to celebrate the big 1-0! Big things to come. Stay tuned. 😘

*Update! Update! Update!* Due to the yuck weather tomorrow (Sat), I made the decision to move the Bun Run to THIS SUNDAY at 1:00pm Pockets. (Sorry, I waited as long as I could, yet giving as much time as possible for people to adjust plans.)

So I'm definitely aware of the yuck weather that's coming through Saturday. Eeeekkkk... :-/ No idea when it's going to hit.. ***Hopefully the afternoon*** So far, we're all set for normal start time of 10am. I will post updates to THIS page if anything changes. Can always move the silent auction/music/massage chairs/after party inside Pocket's Grille if need be. Thank y'all SO MUCH for supporting this event! We have some kids to help send to college and some breast cancer to raise money to fight! Don't stress, we'll be flexible and make it work! Pack your cute rain boots and plan to have some fun!
