Attention class of 73. There have been some recent comments on some of our posts mentioning reunion tee shirts. These are scams. Do not click any links to order a tee shirt. You will not get one because they don’t exist. They will take your money and information such as credit cards and accounts and you will get nothing but trouble. Note these people have names that you won’t recognize because they are not our classmates. They are scammers.

We have removed those we found and blocked those people from coming into this group. They may try to use another fake name and try again.

No classmates have made up any tee shirts. If you see anyone trying to sell tee shirts or any other items for that matter they are scammers after your money.

If you see anyone trying to sell anything report it to the admins and we will remove the post or comment.

I am driving up from Beaufort, SC for the tailgate reunion and football game. My grandson’s wedding was on the same day as the reunion in June so I missed seeing so many of you. I really hated that. It looked like a lovely evening with beautiful decorations, name tags, etc. and it was well attended. I hope you will come this Friday night, September 15 to the tailgate gathering so that I get to see you again. I’m gonna bring some shrimp and crab goodies from the Lowcountry where I now live to share. Please come out!

Hello Classmates. We are only days away from our second 50 year class reunion. 50 years is a once in a lifetime event so why not do it twice? Sept 15 starting at 4pm. Location is behind the gas company building in their training center parking lot. This is a tailgate party so bring your own chairs, food, drinks, etc. After a few hours of fun and sharing memories we will head over to the homecoming game where we have a reserved section for us as we cheer on the Tigers. It appears we will have great weather so plan to come and show your team spirit.

The class of 73 will hold their 50 year reunion ( part 2 ) on Sept. 15 for the homecoming game. This will be a tailgate party. You are welcome to bring food or drink and definitely your own folding chairs. Maybe a folding table if you wish. Set up a gazebo in case if rain is in the forecast.

As you can see this is a no frills event. We’re too old to be working too hard. Just show up and have a good time.

The location is the Gas Company training area behind where Ernie‘s restaurant used to be. We will start about 4pm. This will give a few hours to share memories before the game which will probably start about 6:30 or so. We will try to sit together on the far end of the bleachers. There is a charge to get into the game.

This event is not restricted to the class of 73. Any classmates who attended while we were there or shortly after are welcome to attend.

And finally, I need for you who plan to attend to help spread the word. You are welcome to message me on Facebook or text or call Ray Miller at 615-504-4743 for any questions.

We are only a week away from the event we have been waiting 50 years to attend. The class of 73’s 50 year reunion is coming up very soon. We are putting on the finishing touches.

Here are some details for you all and a bit long winded so please bear with me.

Almost done with the name tags. Spouses and guests get the Tigers tags where they just write their names. I made name tags for the ones who contacted me or was told they were coming. I made some more who I thought might be coming.

Twisted Oaks will have a 70’s 80’s event going on as well that evening. There is a costume contest so dress up like you were back in the 70’s. Note it may be hot that afternoon so dress for that. Shorts and sandals would be fine. Speaking of the weather I see no rain in the forecast. We have worried about that for months.

We have no real agenda. Just mingle, laugh, and have a good time seeing friends many of which you may not have seen since graduation.

The food is great there. This is a Dutch treat event so order what you want and pay for it. This was easier then having a catered meal and collecting money and RSVP and all that. We are too old to be working that hard.

I have incurred some expenses and would gladly accept any donations. I take cash, cards, jewelry, cars, and boats. LOL.

Well that’s about it for now. I’m stoked. Can’t wait. See y’all soon.

Hello Classmates. Some have asked how many have passed away over the past 50 years. I have made up a list of those of our class and faculty who have passed. It may need adjustment? I may have missed some that need to be added and it is possible I have some that are alive and well and need to be removed. Take a good look at the picture below and let me know if I need to add or subtract anyone.

I have 52 classmates that are no longer with us. A few did not graduate but still were classmates at some point. I have fond memories of many of them. Some were like brothers. Other were just friends. Even kissed a few of the girls. I missed them all.

Again, take a look and update me. I want it to be right and honor our friends with a memorial table at the reunion.

Well, we are getting closer to our 50 year reunion. In just little over a month we will celebrating 50 since we all sat on the football field waiting for our name to be called and walking away with diplomas in hand ready to face the world.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all’s smiling faces at our reunion.

I still need to know who all will be attending so we can get a close count. Twisted Oaks needs to know so they will have enough staff on hand. I need to know so I can make up name tags with your senior picture on them. Contact Ray Miller via Facebook messenger or call or text me at 615-504-4743.

We had two more members of our class pass away recently. Craig Woodside and Lynn Bain passed just a few days apart. Both were great friends to many of us and they will be missed. Prayers for their families in their time of sorrow.
