If we should, we will.

We've been pretty quiet over here at Solid Ground. Lisa and I have been staying busy working with off site clients, collecting campers to renovate for additional housing and expanding our infrastructure.

That is until recently.

I can't say much for the sake of privacy. What I can say is that Lisa and I have chosen to house and raise a child.

This is a big shift for us. And it has become our primary focus.

If you know anything about us, you know that Lisa and I will run straight at hard situations. We are strong. We are smart. We are capable. We are willing. We are uniquely skilled for this particular task. We will make a difference in this child's life.

To make this happen, we need support from our friends, family and framily. This child needs both of us home while we sort through some issues and reach for some goals. At this time, the non profit does not have the financial resources to support this need. Nor do we, personally. This little human needs more from us. We will do the work and will give it all we've got. We need some help from behind the scenes to pull it off.

Be the adult that you needed as a child.

Help us make a difference in this child's life.

We jumped into readying the fall garden last Thursday evening. We’ll be working to get things set up and growing each Thursday from 6-8:30pm thru the end of September. Please let us know if you’d like to join us🧑‍🌾

The garden space was overgrown with grass and weeds, so first task last week was mowing. Vanessa made quick work of it with the borrowed riding mower.
We have a nice collection of donated livestock troughs and homemade bins for raised bed gardening. This week we’ll be filling up the containers with soil in preparation for planting.

We’re always looking to help where we can. The Bastrop County food pantry put out an SOS because they were completely out of rice, which is an important staple for many households. We were happy to help in this small way. There’s magic in collaboration 💜

I went on a quick road trip to collect a most awesome and needed donation. A good friend "wanted to support" our mission to help women in recovery. What did she come up with? The wire needed to expand our electric grid. This wire will serve 6 more camper spots. What a gift! Soon we will be fundraising to cover our electrician's labor costs. Things are happening!

As we wind down the year, we’re wrapping up our 2023 fundraising campaign.
The build out agenda for 2024 looks great. If all goes to plan, we’ll add 6 additional transitional housing dwellings by June. We’ll be adding the infrastructure to accommodate these dwellings as funds allow. Help us turn the impossible into a living reality that saves lives. We’re on a mission to lift women up and we need your help!
