The little nonprofit that could is feeding more and more families each month. What started out as a humble free food stand has quickly given way to plans for buildings and community gatherings. We’re meeting more friendly hungry neighbors every week 🤠
From the beginning, Solid Ground Sanctuary has taken the long view in healing and recovery. True recovery takes time. It takes the support of a safe environment and resources without barriers. In addition to shelter and food, we continue to offer our housing clients direct access to mental health support and guidance through our partnership with two licensed clinical social workers. Since February 2026, we have expanded our scope in order to help more people in a meaningful and transformative way in our immediate rural surroundings. Nutrition is formative in growing children and is key to human wellbeing. Food is a human right ❤️
Solid Ground Sanctuary sits miles from any food store. In every direction, there is need. Families working as hard as they can to make ends meet. Single moms, disabled seniors, college grads out of work, working class folks whose labor doesn’t afford all the necessities in this economy. Transportation in rural areas continues to be a challenge for many of our food share clients.
We offer weekly appointments for groceries 4 days a week and routinely accommodate work and school schedules 🗓️
