It’s that time of year! Smithfield VA Events is accepting grant applications for 2027! Apply for a $5,000 or $10,000 grant!

Deadline to apply is Aug 31, 2026.

If your non-profit benefits Smithfield/Isle of Wight and did not received a grant in calendar years 2025 or 2026 you are eligible to apply for the 2027 grants.

Hey Ho! A couple days late but Volunteer Group Sign-Ups just went live on our website for April 11, 2026 Wine & Brew Fest.

Deadline is Sun, 3/15/26. NO EXTENSIONS- unfilled spots will be transferred to a group that has filled theirs and wants more starting on 3/16.

You don’t have to wait on your group leader just go ahead and sign up now.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

We are still looking for more volunteers for BOB Fest January 17th! Grab your bestie and volunteer to raise money for your favorite non-profit! 🥳🤩
Smithfield VA BOB Fest

🕒We have all day and half day positions available! You can be an individual volunteer or with one of our many groups that are registered.

Spots needing to fill:
⭐️Party Tent Server - Duties will include serving both roasted and raw oysters to sponsor tables, bringing condiments to tables and removing table trash and taking it to the trash station in the food tent. This job is a standing and (a lot!) of walking position and probably the MOST FUN POSITION!
⭐️Trash Helper (heavy lifter) - Take out trash from inside the tent and/or bring trash using a golf cart from the tents to the dumpster outside.
⭐️Line Monitors/Wristband Checkers - Low impact job. Stand at booths where alcohol is being sold to make sure fest attendees have proper wristbands to be served alcohol.
⭐️Oyster Prep - This job entails filling individual baskets with oysters for attendees to pick up, emptying & cleaning oyster buckets or trays, collecting & sorting table trash and oysters for recycling that comes back from party tent, replenishing supplies or oyster condiments.
⭐️Refrigerator Truck - Monitor the refrigerator truck while volunteers transport supplies to and from.
⭐️Volunteer Food - Assist with serving other volunteers' food in the storage barn.
⭐️Volunteer In-Waiting - Ready for any type of job! Be on stand-by during the festival in the chance other volunteers don't show up or certain areas need an extra hand. This is a flexible position that could involve waiting around until work is needed.

We encourage groups to wear their own shirts/hats when volunteering so folks know what organization you are with but if you want to purchase a 2026 BOB Volunteer shirts your can order one on our website.

$19 each. Small to 3XXL. Deadline is Dec 14th. Pick up at Volunteer Check in the Fri before or Sat when your volunteering.
