I am for the child who has attended eight schools in four years. Because she is in foster care. Because her birth mother, debilitated by mental illness, neglected her. I am for her. The child
who almost died. Who now sits, surrounded by strangers, in the back of yet another class. Failing. I am for that child. So I am there for that child. To listen to h

er. To stand up for her in court. To speak for her. To champion without compromise
for what’s in her best interest. Because if I am there for her, I know she will be half as likely to
languish in foster care, and that much more likely to find a safe, permanent home. That is the child I am for.

The Voices for Kids Casa of Southeastern Virginia extends its sincere gratitude to the Hensley Family Giving Tree Fund of the Suffolk Foundation for their generous donation to our organization. We also greatly appreciate the support of the Cross Family Fund of the Suffolk foundation . These contributions will significantly enhance the lives of our children, providing them with a safer and more nurturing environment. Additionally, we plan to utilize these funds to recruit more advocates for our cause. If you know of anyone interested in volunteering and becoming an advocate for our children, please contact the Voices for Kids office in Smithfield or Carolyn Burke at 757-880-7571.

Hello everyone.... I'm thrilled to finally share the amazing news about our Gala in October.. The event was a resounding success! Despite being short three tables due to circumstances beyond their control, we raised an impressive over $26,000.00, which was truly wonderful... We're grateful for our generous friends of Casa and donors, whose support means the world to us. Thank you, everyone who came!❤️

Our next Gala is October 10, 2026, and we can't wait to share it with you! Cocktail hour will start at 6:00 to 7:00pm, followed by dinner, auction, and dancing...
