Smithfield resident recognized for extraordinary dedication to Pleasant View Elementary School and the Smithfield community

[Smithfield, RI] — The Premeer Gives Back Foundation is proud to announce Alycia Casazza, as a 2026 recipient of its Be The Good Award, recognizing her selfless commitment, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the students, families, and faculty of Pleasant View Elementary School.

The Be The Good Award is presented to community members who generously give their time, energy, and heart simply because they care. Alycia Casazza exemplifies that spirit in every way.

As the school's PTO President, a position she is stepping down from as her youngest daughter moves on to middle school this fall, Alycia has been a tireless advocate for the school community. Through her leadership, dedication, and get-it-done attitude, she helped strengthen connections among students, parents, teachers, and staff while fostering a spirit of community throughout the school.

Among her many contributions, Alycia spearheaded the creation of the PVE Panda Players, a student theater program that recently completed its third successful season. This year's production of The Wizard of Oz earned standing ovations and showcased the creativity, confidence, and talents of Pleasant View students.

Her willingness to answer the call, step forward when help is needed, and devote countless hours of volunteerism has made a lasting impact on the school and the broader Smithfield community. She never seeks recognition for her efforts and instead focuses on creating opportunities and experiences that benefit others.

"There are many people who do thoughtful and kind things throughout our community, but every so often you meet someone who truly becomes the heartbeat of their community," said Chris Whitten, President of the Premeer Gives Back Foundation and Broker/Founder of Premeer Real Estate. "Alycia has devoted so much of her time, energy, and passion to making Pleasant View Elementary a better place for students, families, and staff. We are honored to recognize her for her selfless dedication to our community."

In addition to this recognition, Alycia was presented with a generous gift certificate donated by Blackie's in celebration of her years of service and her retirement from the Pleasant View Elementary PTO.
