We need to restock our bathroom necessities! The rescue mission supplies each of our residents with hygiene products, and we're running low.

If you, your church group, civic group, or school club are looking for a community outreach opportunity, a drive to collect shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and bathroom surface cleaner is a simple way to help!

Johnston County is under a Winter Storm Warning from Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon, with a significant risk of ice accumulation that could cause major impacts across the County. In response, the County and community partners will activate White Flag shelter operations and the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) beginning Saturday.

While forecasts will continue to evolve, potential impacts include power outages, falling trees, hazardous driving conditions, and closures or disruptions to infrastructure. Residents are strongly encouraged to prepare now and avoid unnecessary travel beginning Saturday afternoon.

County-Facilitated White Flag Shelter:

Johnston County Government will operate a White Flag shelter at 600 M. Durwood Stephenson Parkway, Smithfield, with receiving hours beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Residents who plan on staying at a shelter should be sure to bring personal belongings including: medication, bedding, and hygiene items. Parents with infants should be sure to bring formula, bottles, disposable diapers, and pacifiers. Pets will be housed at Johnston County Animal Services.

🚨Emergency Operations Center 🚨

The Johnston County Emergency Operations Center will be activated at noon Saturday. Beginning at noon, non-emergency calls may be directed to (919) 989-5400.

So many amazing people gave and received through the work God is doing at the Smithfield Rescue Mission this holiday season! Another year packed with blessings for over 1,100 people in our community. Our staff, board, volunteers, and supporting friends impacted a lot of lives in Jesus’ name!
