Did you know, when the puppies are weaned from their Moms, they go to a “Puppy Raiser”? The puppy raisers receive the pups when they are approximately 8 weeks old. They are responsible for teaching the pups good manners and providing socialization experiences. Puppy raisers belong to a puppy raising club in their local area. The clubs are overseen by GDB staff members and provide a framework for teaching the puppies foundational skills. More information on this important phase coming soon!

Did you know all of the puppies are born on the campus and cared for by staff veterinarians? Each litter is assigned a letter of the alphabet and the puppies are named according; Lupe’, Lisa, Lloyd were some of the puppies in the “L” litter. There will only be one working “Lupe’” and when she retires, her name will go back into rotation.
