Good morning everyone,

We had some leadership changes at last night’s meeting. First, Anita Sluga has resigned as Commander. I would like to thank her for her efforts as Commander and look forward to her continued involvement in her new role as Adjutant.

With Anita’s resignation, I am now the Commander of Chapter 72 and Rod Rees is the new Senior Vice Commander.

Prior to last night, Rick Buchanon had spent the last several years as both Treasurer and Adjutant. He will be continuing as Treasurer. I would like to personally recognize and thank Rick for his years of service and efforts to keep the chapter viable.

We are all looking forward to boosting member participation and our involvement with the various communities in our area.

Our next chapter meeting is on January 11, 2024 at 6:30pm at the 911 Center in Smethport. All members are encouraged to attend.

Do not let a difficult situation like this happen to you. If you are veteran that is experiencing a mental health crisis, you can go to any ER at any hospital in the country and receive treatment.

First-line responders received more training, and a supervisor was transferred from an oversight position following the su***de of a veteran who had texted a national crisis line for help.
