Hello everyone. Wednesday evening our home was struck by a vehicle that was driving at an extremely high speed. My family, as well as the driver are okay, but the damage is so great, it has left my family and I homeless. The house is unsafe to live in, with thousands of dollars worth of damage both outside and inside the home. My children and I are staying with family in Jamestown NY, while my husband stays local so he can continue to work.

The pantry is still on the porch, there are a couple of items inside, please help yourself to whatever is left. I will not be refilling the pantry at this time, and I will no longer be accepting any donations of food or hygiene products at this time. Thank you all so much for giving when you can over the months and helping your neighbor.

Recently, a community member who donates a generous amount of cash monthly sent out a Christmas card containing money. We suspect the card was delivered by the mail person to the wrong address, and unfortunately, the individual stole it, and didn't return the card to be delivered to the proper address. This money was to be used to purchase hams and turkeys for families in need. I am extremely angry and upset. The people who donate, do so out of kindness. Many people use the community pantry, and its nothing but unfair to them. This is not what mutual aid, community or the Christmas season is about. If you received the card, please do the right thing. It was not your money. The man who donated it is an older gentleman who is on a fixed income. Very wrong!! Shameful.

Please make sure you're checking on your elderly neighbors, if they need and you're able, please consider shoveling for them.

Please be so, so careful visiting the pantry. We are getting some salt put down later today to ensure safety.
If you're looking for information about help with Thanksgiving dinner, please see my previous post, as people have left comments about organizations which are providing help.
Please consider stopping by and taking the remaining canned goods that are inside the pantry. I will be removing them soon to prevent freezing, and the pantry will only have dried goods until the weather is appropriate. I will share a detailed list of good donations for winter which will do well in the pantry. Thank you all.

Please comment below of any organizations in McKean County that will help with Thanksgiving dinners. Whether it be providing a turkey and sides, or fully cooked dinners to those in need. We've got some people asking about where to receive help for the upcoming holiday!! If you volunteer at a place that helps make Thanksgiving special for others, let us know about it, and if your organization could use some help, in case anyone in the community is looking to volunteer.

Great donations the past few days! Pantry still has lots inside, and I add new items daily. I want to thank the person who left the gift for me outside of my door, candy and an adorable Christmas tree ornament. I love it and I appreciate it so much! Stop by to take what you need, donate when you can. I am having issues with my phone, and hope to resolve this so I can return to posting pictures again, hopefully soon! So everyone can continue to see pictures of what is in the pantry.

The pantry is completely stuffed full! Please only take what you truly need, keep others in mind and donate as often as you can. Even 1 item donated truly makes aa difference and matters. We have various kinds of breads, fruits, hygiene prodcuts and more! Thank you all!!

The People's Pantry received a monetary donation this morning. I am heading to Aldi right now to stock up on food for the pantry! The community refrigerator has been removed until spring, so only the pantry is availible. Please stop by to donate or take what you need! Thank you to everyone!!

Great day! Ten children got new winter boots! They're all gone! 🖤

I will be willing to take winter items such as boots, gloves, hats, mittens, scarves and warm socks for the pantry! I can NOT take coats, snow suits or any large pieces of clothing, they will not fit in the pantry. Thank you.
