Art on the Rail Trail

Art on the Rail Trail The mission of ART is to support and improve the Albany County Helderberg-Hudson Rail Trail by creating public works of art along to trail.

This project was made possible by the generous business sponsorships and private donations as well as the AARP 2017 Community Challenge Grant award. The first mural was installed in October 2017. ART is creating works of art–murals and possibly other mediums– to enrich the lives of visitors to the rail trail.

MiniMoCA 518 is back! Art on the Rail Trail and miniMoCA 518 are pleased to present these playful ceramic sculptures by artist Betsy Brandt.

Betsy Brandt’s glazed stoneware vessels are inspired by natural growth processes and use exuberant color to express lightness, beauty, and hope. While she works across a variety of media in painting and sculpture, this trio of vessels represents the artist’s return to the ceramic medium as well as her interest in abstract forms based on observations and responses to sources in the natural world.

Betsy Brandt earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Philadelphia College of Art and her Master of Fine Arts degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums since 1987.
