Sligo Memorial Day Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 29, 2023 at the Sligo Cemetery. This year’s speaker is Pastor Ed Rudiger, pastor of the Sligo Presbyterian Church. We will also be dedicating the new flag pole that was graciously donated for the cemetery. We would like to add something new this year. We would like to invite local veterans to join our processional through the cemetery. Family members of deceased veterans are also invited to walk in memory of their loved one. We would encourage you to write their name on posterboard, perhaps add a few decorations to your sign and maybe even have the children in your family walk in memory of your loved one. If you purchased your own banner to display at your house for the Hometown Hero project, that could serve as your poster. In any event, we would like to incorporate more of a veteran presence in our processional this year. Hope to see you there!
