✨Giving Back Part 2: Bigger Hearts, Bigger Impact ✨

True leadership is not only about vision, it’s about connection, compassion, and giving back to the community that shapes us. ❤️

Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 was honored to gift Rainbow Childcare a charitable donation, a small act rooted in a much bigger purpose: creating impact through service, heart, and unity.

When we come together with a shared mission, even the simplest gestures can inspire hope, strengthen community bonds, and remind others that meaningful change begins with people willing to step forward.

Our class hopes to continue leading by example to inspire, motivate, and show that when we go above and beyond for one another, we can make a truly lasting difference.

✨ Follow the lead.
✨ Pour into your community.
✨ Be the spark that encourages others to serve.

A few of us were able to catch this moment. But together, we can create the kind of impact that ripples far beyond today.

🌿🐊 Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 – Environmental Day (Part 2) 🐊🌿

Continuing our journey on Environmental Day, the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 traveled to the Tammany Trace area at the Camp Salmen Nature Park, where we had the honor of hearing from Queen Chief Warhorse and learning about the rich cultural and environmental history of our region.

Queen Chief Warhorse shared insight into her family’s deep roots in St. Tammany Parish and the importance of preserving Native heritage, land, and waterways. Her story reminded us that the land we walk on holds generations of history, culture, and resilience.

We also learned about the history and restoration of the park and trail, gaining a deeper appreciation for how these spaces have been rebuilt and preserved for the community to enjoy today. Experiences like this connect us not only to nature, but to the people and stories that came before us.

From there, our class continued the adventure with a visit to Cajun Encounters Swamp Tour, where we were able to experience the beauty of Louisiana’s wetlands up close.

Guided through the waterways, we saw:
🐢 Turtles
🐊 Several alligators including a three-legged one!
🐍 Snakes
🦅 Birds and native wildlife

We also learned about the ecosystem, the history of the land, and even the unique way of life for those who live in homes only accessible by boat.

For some of us, being that close to nature especially the alligators was a little outside of our comfort zone 😅… but we showed up as a team, faced a few fears, and embraced the experience together. It was calming, educational, and just a little terrifying all at the same time.

And to make it even more personal, it was amazing to hear that some of our classmates actually grew up swimming in these waters, adding a whole new level of appreciation (and bravery!) to the experience.

Beyond the wildlife and scenery, the day gave us time to slow down, listen, reflect, and truly take in the beauty and importance of our environment from the trees and waterways to the sounds of nature all around us.

A special thank you to Lenny Williams with Cici’s Pizza for providing lunch and allowing us to fellowship together in such a beautiful setting. 🍕

This part of the day reminded us that environmental leadership is not just about awareness. It’s about connection, respect, and stewardship of the land and waters that shape our community. 💚

🌿🌎 Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 – Environmental Day (Part 1) 🌎🌿

Our Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 kicked off Environmental Day with an engaging and eye-opening session led by Dr. Bob Thomas of Loyola University New Orleans, alongside Pon Dixson, Wildlife Refuge Manager, and members of the Environmental Issues Committee.

Through powerful visuals and discussion, we learned just how vital coastal Louisiana’s resources are, not only to our way of life, but to our economy and future.

From fisheries and tourism to infrastructure and waterways, Louisiana’s coast supports billions in economic impact and thousands of jobs each year.

One of the most eye-opening takeaways was how connected our waterways truly are. What begins as a small stream can flow into larger rivers like the Yellowstone and Missouri, eventually reaching the Mississippi River reminding us that environmental impact is never isolated. Everything is connected.

We also discussed the urgent reality of coastal land loss. Projections show significant wetland loss over time, and during Hurricane Katrina alone, Louisiana lost tens of square miles of wetlands in just hours. These wetlands are not just land. They are protection, habitat, and sustainability for future generations.

Dr. Thomas emphasized that as leaders, we must balance public good with human impact, ensuring that decisions made today consider both livelihoods and long-term environmental sustainability. Solutions such as the Multiple Lines of Defense (MLOD) strategy highlight the importance of combining natural and man-made systems to protect our region.

This session set the tone for the day reminding us that protecting our environment is not optional, it is essential. As leaders, we are called to be informed, engaged, and proactive in preserving the resources that define the Northshore and coastal Louisiana.

Thank you to Dr. Bob Thomas, Pon Dixson, and the Environmental Issues Committee for sharing your knowledge, passion, and commitment to protecting our environment. 💚

✨ Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 – Community, Connection & Giving Back ✨

During our recent community service project at Rainbow Center, while we were hard at work painting and giving back, something unexpected happened….

We “lost” Paddy 👀

Yes, Paddy was taken by the Leadership Northshore Alumni (kind of) and held for ransom, all in good fun, of course! 😄

But as leaders do, we turned a fun challenge into an opportunity to serve. In order to bring Paddy back home, our class came together and answered the call by making a donation to the Community Christian Concern (CCC) Center in Slidell.

As a class, we collected a variety of much-needed items including:
🧻 Paper towels
🧴 Personal hygiene products
🩷 Feminine hygiene items
🧺 Laundry supplies
🎲 Children’s games and essentials
…and so much more

What started as a lighthearted moment turned into something meaningful. Although Paddy was traveling all over Slidell, it became a blessing in disguise, allowing us to give back to an organization that supports individuals and families in need within our community.

This experience reminded us that leadership is not always about what we plan. It’s about how we respond, come together, and serve with purpose.

Thank you to our Leadership Northshore Alumni for the fun (and the lesson), and thank you to our class for showing up with generosity and heart. 💛

A few of us were able to capture this memorable moment!

🎉 Paddy Has Returned to the C/O 2026🎉

Leadership Northshore mentor Dr. Joan proudly returned Paddy the Patriot back to the Class of 2026 after witnessing their incredible hard work, determination, and diligence throughout this unforgettable journey. Paddy is happy to be back from a week of touring the City of Slidell with the alumni.

After the eventful Environmental Day, the class showed up to their after-hours social to Paddy waiting for them.
The class has gone above and beyond their ransom and came together to give charitable donations to Rainbow Childcare, Family Reach, and a friend in need.

The class was overjoyed to see Paddy again and even happier to learn that during the after-hours social, Paddy made a new friend in Petty. 💫 What a fun and unexpected friendship to come from this adventure! Quite the metaphor for the uniting of alumni and class. Unity is power!

Now safely back where she belongs, Paddy has officially been entrusted back to classmate Amy Glenn, the official protector of Paddy, who will help ensure her next chapter is just as memorable, and safe!

This playful mission brought the class even closer together and reminded them all how unity, persistence, and a little creativity can make any challenge unforgettable. 💙✨

✨🚨 OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM LEADERSHIP NORTHSHORE C/O 2026 🚨✨

After much reflection, strategic planning, and several unexpected, yet fun, alumni-related incidents, the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 has made the difficult decision to officially replace Paddy the Patriot on April 1st.

Please welcome our new mascot… ✨ Petty ✨

Covered in sparkle, full of drama, and fueled entirely by mischief, Petty represents the resilience, determination, and slightly chaotic energy that has carried Class of 2026 through this past week.

While Paddy’s adventures with the class will always be remembered, Petty is here to usher in a bold new era—one filled with strategy, shine, and just the right amount of revenge. Petty leads the “Shining Stars”✨

Rumor has it Petty is already helping the class devise the ultimate plan to reclaim what was taken… while looking fabulous doing it.

Happy APRIL FOOLS from the Class of 2026. 😉✨

Where in the world is Paddy the Patriot?!🕵️‍♂️

The Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 continues to show what teamwork, unity, and commitment truly look like.

While working diligently on their class service project, the class mascot, Paddy the Patriot, was taken by LN alumni and has since been making her way across the parish on a series of unexpected adventures.

In the midst of the fun challenge to bring Paddy back, the Class of 2026 has remained focused on what matters most—serving the community while coming together to rescue Paddy. From developing creative fundraising efforts to supporting local nonprofits and helping fellow classmates and peers in need, this experience has only strengthened the bonds within the class.

Paddy was searched for high and low. The Olde Towne Antique Fair✅. The Crawfish Fest✅. The Christmas movie set in Olde Towne✅. Even Alumni Pamela Breaux was a suspect. During one recent impromptu attempt, the class came close to intercepting Paddy, but Alumni Donna Bach moved quickly and managed to stay ahead once again!

But what stands out most is how this journey has brought the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 even closer together. Through collaboration, strategy, and shared purpose, the class is more united than ever and determined to bring Paddy back home.

Stay tuned as the mission continues.

🎨✨ Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 – Community Service in Action! ✨🎨

Today, the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 came together for a meaningful and creative community service project at Rainbow Child Care under the leadership of Ms. Dionne.

Our very own classmate and artist Joshua Wichterich took the lead by designing and outlining a beautiful concept for the daycare’s outdoor storage unit, setting the tone for what became a day full of teamwork, creativity, and service.

A special thank you to Ms. Dionne Graham for sponsoring the project with paint and supplies, allowing us to bring this vision to life.

From early morning until the afternoon, classmates showed up at different times throughout the day but one thing remained consistent: the commitment to serve and show up for our community.

Together, we painted, laughed, collaborated, and added our own creative touches, turning a simple structure into something vibrant and meaningful for the children.

This project was more than just painting, it was fellowship, bonding, and giving back. It was a reminder that leadership is not just about planning and presenting, but about rolling up our sleeves and making an impact together.

We invite you to take a look at the photos and videos to see the fruits of our labor, and we look forward to hearing how the children at Rainbow Child Care enjoy their newly refreshed space! 💛

Our weekend recap (Saturday, March 21st)......

🎨Arts Evening 2026 in Olde Towne 🎨

What a magical night to remember!

Arts Evening 2026 brought the heart of our community together in Olde Towne, where creativity, culture, and connection filled the air.

The Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 participated in an unforgettable evening of art, music, delicious food, and refreshing drinks, all while shining a light on two incredible community initiatives: Trashformation and Northshore W.A.T.E.R.s

Olde Towne truly came alive as artists and musicians shared their gifts, inviting us all into a world where expression and inspiration flowed freely. The evening was more than just an event, it was a celebration of what happens when community and creativity unite.

🌿 Trashformation captivated the crowd with their mission of turning everyday discarded materials into stunning works of art, proving that beauty can rise from what we often overlook.

Their wearable, handcrafted headpieces made from recycled materials were both powerful and unforgettable fashion statements, which inspired many to sign up to participate in Trashformation’s art exhibit coming soon.

💧 Northshore W.A.T.E.R.s made waves of their own, engaging guests with handmade water-quality fans inspired by the signage that will be installed soon, bringing awareness to the health and future of our local waterways.

Dressed in their most creative and expressive attire, the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 embodied the spirit of the evening by celebrating individuality, supporting local artists and businesses, and showing that leadership is rooted in community.

🎨 We invite YOU to follow our lead to get involved, stay inspired, and learn more about these impactful local initiatives: Trashformation & Northshore W.A.T.E.R.s.

Because when art meets purpose…magic happens. ✨

🕊️ Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 – Healthcare Day (Part 2) 🕊️

Continuing our impactful day on March 11th, the Leadership Northshore Class of 2026 had the honor of visiting The Hospice House in Slidell, a place that truly embodies compassion, dignity, and love during life’s most delicate moments.

We were welcomed under the leadership of Executive Director Miranda Lindsay and guided through the home by Community Outreach Coordinator Cheryl Scaglione, who provided us with a heartfelt and informative tour of the facility.

The Hospice House is a nonprofit, donation-funded home that offers a peaceful and supportive environment for individuals in the final stages of life at no cost to the patient or their family.

As we walked through the home, we were able to see the private rooms, shared living spaces, and areas where families can gather, all designed to create a sense of comfort, peace, and home during a time that is often filled with uncertainty and grief. The home is staffed with caregivers 24 hours a day, ensuring that both patients and their loved ones are supported physically and emotionally.

The Hospice House serves as a safe haven for those who may not have the ability or support to spend their final days at home, providing not only care, but also dignity, compassion, and a space for families to be together during such an important time.

What stood out most during this visit was the intentional atmosphere of peace and love. This is not just a facility, it is a place where people are cared for deeply, where families are embraced, and where individuals are allowed to transition with dignity.

This portion of the day was incredibly emotional and deeply personal for many of us. Several classmates are currently navigating grief and recent loss, and for one of our classmates, this visit was especially meaningful as their loved one had been cared for at The Hospice House. It reminded us that the work being done here is not just service, it is impact that touches real lives, real families, and real hearts.

This experience reinforced that leadership also means being present in the hardest moments, supporting others through loss, and valuing the importance of compassionate care in our community.

We are truly grateful to Miranda, Cheryl, and the entire Hospice House team for opening your doors to us and allowing us to witness such meaningful and heartfelt work.

A special thank you to Glen Boyer for his leadership and for guiding our class through this experience. 💛
