Jada’s Voice

Jada’s Voice Jada Bright was 23 when she was killed by a drunk driver driving home from college on Thanksgiving morning 2018.

We are working to pass Jada’s Law to promote duty of care, accountability, and safer rental practices so lives can be saved.

Can you even believe it!?!?!

Can you even believe it!?!?!

I have no words.

Today, there is a law that bears her name.

Jada's Law is now a reality.

To know that lives will be saved because of her. To know that some lives may be changed forever because of her. It is almost too much to take in.

What started with one person saying yes, then another, and another, became something real. A law that will help protect families for years to come.

I am incredibly grateful.

I love our community in Slidell. So many people stepped up, listened, cared, and worked together to make this happen.

Hearing Mayor Randy Fandal say that in his years of public service this was one of the most important DWI laws he has seen passed was overwhelming. I don't know that I will ever fully absorb what that means.

Jada's name will forever be connected to something that saves lives.

Thank you to everyone who said yes. ❤️

Love you all,
Jennifer Bright

So grateful to God, Representative Glorioso, the legislators who listened, the advocates who stood beside us, Heather Gauntt, law enforcement, Sudden Impact, our Slidell community, and every person who helped carry this effort forward. Just the beginning!

Passed the House committee 🙌

Thank you Representative Glorioso for hearing our heart and giving this bill a chance.

We are almost there. Just a couple more steps.

Just need 5 minutes of your time!!! House Bill 264 would require that anyone arrested for drunk driving cannot be released from custody until a safe-release clearance is made. They must be held a minimum of 8 hours if their blood alcohol concentration is still above the legal limit. They cannot bond out. They cannot walk out the door still drunk. Not until it is determined safe to release them.

That protection did not exist when we lost Jada.

HB 264 will be heard by the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice this Thursday April 23. These are the people who decide if it moves forward. We need them to hear from you!

Please take five minutes and email every member below. We have written the email for you, if you need. Copy it, add your name, and send it. Then share this post. Text it to someone right now!!

Jada cannot speak anymore. We can. And we will!

This is just the beginning. As this bill moves forward we will ask you to send more emails and contact others along the way. We are going to need you every step of this process!

Thank you Representative Glorioso for all your work!
