With saddened hearts, we extend our loving prayers and deepest condolences to the family and friends of our friend and board member, Robert W Allen. He served our board beginning in 2018 and was a lifelong servant to our country. Robert shared our passion to serve the families of our active duty military personnel, even during his own deployments. He will be missed and never forgotten. ♥️💙🇺🇸
Thank you to Slidell Police Department for sharing this bio:
Robert retired last year from the Slidell Police Department’s Reserve Division, in order to fight a courageous battle with cancer. Sadly, Robert left us last night.
Robert began his law enforcement career in 1992 with the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in the Patrol Division and Street Crimes Unit, and served as an investigator with the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office.
Robert would subsequently serve as a police officer with the Port of New Orleans Police Department, while attending Loyola University.
Robert began serving the Slidell community with the Slidell Police Department in 2016. Robert’s law enforcement experience also includes serving as a member of the United Nations Police Mission in Kosovo and as a counterintelligence special agent with the Department of Defense.
Robert also served as a personal security specialist for the U.S. State Department’s Worldwide Personal Protection Service in Israel and on various classified programs in Afghanistan from 2004-2015.
Starting his military career in 1988 with the United States Marine Corps, Robert eventually joined the LA Army National Guard in 1999. Robert served a long military career, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan), and Operation Inherent Resolve (Iraq/Syria).
Most recently, Robert was assigned as the Deputy Inspector General for Marine Forces Reserve/South in New Orleans, LA, and the Commander of the 415th Military Intelligence Battalion for the LA National Guard.
If that wasn’t enough, Robert also taught Risk Management and Threat Assessment at the graduate school with Tulane University’s School of Professional Advancement.
Combined with all of the above, Robert gave 35 years of service to the community and country.
May he rest in peace.
