Good morning, fellow Elks!

The services for departed Elk Charlesray Neight will be held on Thursday, September 3rd. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell. Visitation will be followed by a Mass in the church. Those with red coats are encouraged to wear them to the visitation and mass. Following mass, all are invited to the Slidell Elks Lodge for a celebration of Charlesray's life in the Hall. We will conduct the Elks ritual at the lodge.

Friday, August 28 - No-Host Social Lunch at Phil's Marina at 11:30; Bingo at 7:00 pm; Saints @ Cowboys Pre-Season Game and Potluck (Kickoff at 7:00 pm).
Saturday, August 29 - Lounge open 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Sunday, August 30 - Lounge open 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Monday, August 31 - Office Open 9:30 am to 2:00 pm; Scouting America Troop 315 Meeting at 7:00 pm.
Tuesday, September 1 - No events scheduled.
Wednesday, September 2 - Bingo at 11:30 am.
Thursday, September 3 - Services for Charlesray Neight at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 10:00 am to 1:00 pm; Charlesray Celebration of Life in the Hall starting at 1:00 pm.
Friday, September 4 - Bingo at 7:00 pm.
Saturday, September 5 - Lounge open 11:00 am; LSU vs Clemson and Potluck (kickoff at 6:30 pm)
Sunday, September 6 - Lounge open 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Monday, September 7 - Labor Day Holiday; Office Open 9:30 am to 2:00 pm; Board of Directors and Auxiliary Meetings at 7:00 pm.
Tuesday, September 8 - Annual Inspection by District Deputy at 1:00 pm; Membership Vote Meeting at 7:00 pm.

The District Deputy Grand Exalted Lodge, Ruby Blackwell, will be visiting our lodge for her required official visit on Tuesday, September 8th. She brings a team of Elks and they do an inspection of our facilities and records. They plan to arrive at 1:00 pm. They will also be attending our vote meeting that night.

Other upcoming events to keep in mind -
The drawing for Marvin's Elks Membership Watch will be on Sunday, September 13th during the Saints game.
We will hold the Charlesray Neight Memorial Youth Fishing Rodeo at the pond on the lodge grounds on Saturday, September 19th.
We will be hosting Veterans on the Water on the lower grounds and boat ramp for a kayaking event on Saturday, September 19th.
The Drug Awareness Committee will participate in an event at Slidell Regional Airport on Saturday, September 19th.
Pink Out Bingo Night is scheduled for October 9th.

FUND RAISING CAJUN STYLE-

THE SHRIMP DINNER WAS DELICIOUS LAST NIGHT!

Seasoned just right! Enough heat to compliment the flavor of the shrimp, but not so much spice to make you feel like you could shoot a flame across the room. The shrimp were a nice size and easy to peel. Potatoes, corn and delicious sausage, too. mmm mmm
