Laguna is one of 5 social tribes on the campus of Mississippi College. Social tribes are kind of like MC's version of Greek life (but better!). Founded in 1952, Laguna strives to encourage service & sisterhood.

“Lyndsey is one of my favorite people I’ve been able to meet while at MC. After Christmas break we realized we lived across the hall from each other and have been inseparable ever since!! She laughs often, loves boldly, and has such a servants heart. I’m so thankful to Laguna for introducing me to one of my closest friends and somebody I can truly call a sister!💙💛” - Holli Grace Italiano

Our duo of the day is Lona Quichocho & Alyssa Norris !!!!

“Alyssa and I have only known each other for about a year and a half, but I can’t imagine my life and MC without her. I am forever grateful for nursing school for bringing me her. She is the sweetest, kindest friend I could have. She is endlessly supportive and I know that when I need her she will be there immediately. So many of her patients have talked about her gentleness and how much they love her and I think that is such a testament to the amazing human that she is. She is sunshine and rainbows and she makes my life so much brighter. I love the way she laughs and smiles, even when the days are long and hard. One of my favorite things about her is how she sees people. She gives everyone the benefit of the doubt and treats people with such Godly love. She truly sees me, values who I am, and appreciates me in unique ways. Once we became friends we were basically inseparable and I would not have it any other way. She is my best friend and now my maid of honor. I love my alyssa so much!” - Lona Quichocho

“My sweet Lona!! You are such a blessing in my life, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Lona and I met on our first day of clinical for nursing school. She was my first ever clinical partner and let’s just say it was a rough start. Lona and I quickly became friends after that and continued to grow a strong relationship. God allowed Lona to come into my life when I needed someone the most. Getting to know her has been such an honor and privilege that I would never take for granted. Through all the laughter and tears, I know I can always count on her to pick me up and push me to be the best I can be. She has been such a true friend that has helped me gain so much confidence in myself. From watching movies and doing crafts to being the shoulder I cry on, I know I can always count on her to be there for me. “It’s hard to pinpoint when Callee Gracyn and I actually first met lol ! Our grandmothers are best friends so we have cross paths many times throughout our childhood. It was so exciting when Callee Gracyn decided to come to MC and even more exciting when she rushed Laguna!! Then I got the sweetest honor of being her momma mouse !! Over the past few years our friendship has grown so much! If you see us around you can probably catch us getting coffee, planning another adventure, or accidentally matching!! Callee Gracyn is the sweetest friend who loves well and celebrates your big and small moments with!! Love you bunches Callee Gracyn !! - your momma mouse 🐭” - Madelyn Bell

“Not only is Madelyn my big but she is one of my best friends! Our grandmothers are best friends, and when I decided to come to MC I knew they both hoped and prayed that we would become friends, and it happened so quickly. Madelyn is one of the biggest encourages in my life and someone who is always there for an adventure. She’s a consistent voice of reason and someone who is always at my door in times of need. Our duo of the day is Melanie Hodge & Neely Garrett !!!!

“I’ve known Neely since pre-k, but we reconnected in high school and quickly picked right back up. After a year apart, her at Louisiana Tech and me at Hinds, we both ended up transferring to MC and becoming roommates, which felt like an answered prayer. Since then, we’ve been inseparable. Neely is one of the most genuine, loyal, and uplifting people I know. She’s incredibly thoughtful, always putting others before herself, and has a way of making everyone feel seen and cared for. Whether you need someone to laugh with or someone to sit and listen, she shows up every time with encouragement and kindness. The past two semesters with her have truly have been so special to me, and I’m so grateful for the friendship we’ve built.” - Melanie Hodge

“Melanie and I have known each other since we were kids, but it took up until our senior year of high school for us to truly grow close. When we both decided to transfer to MC, it was a no-brainer that we would be roommates! Melanie is a blessing I never knew I needed but am so lucky to have! I see the Lord in her so clearly through the way she loves others so genuinely. She never fails to make those around her feel seen, valued, and cared for through her constant kindness and encouragement. She brings a light into every aspect of my life and her faith shines so bright in everything she does. Being roommates with her is such a gift - I’ll forever cherish all of the late night laughs, sweet treat runs, and everyday moments we share together! Being in Laguna together has made our friendship all the more special, and I’m so beyond grateful to do life alongside my best friend! Our duo of the day is Caroline Cook & Rachel Regan !!!!

“Mine and Rachel’s story of friendship is a true picture of God’s timing and plans. For two years, we knew each other, worked together, and were friendly towards one another. Then during my Junior year of college, I gained one of my absolute best friends in the world. Rachel brings out the best and most fun parts of me. She lives life with such pure love and energy that I aspire to have. She gives 100% and leads with true integrity. Most importantly, she is a light for Christ to anyone she passes. I’m so thankful to have such a bright, bubbly, and pink best friend! Our friendship has shown me that you can find true community anywhere, especially within two different tribes. “Caroline and I technically met freshman year through mutual friends, worked together sophomore year to help lead Dance Marathon, and spent two summers together as orientation leaders. But, it wasn’t until junior year in nursing school that we became really close friends. Caroline and I have gone through some crazy life stuff together and seeing her grow and mature into the leader and woman of Christ she is today is truly so beautiful. While we may be in separate tribes and wear our different colors loud and proud, she is my best friend and I truly consider her my sister. She is the most diligent and hard working person I know and the ladies of Laguna have been so lucky to have had her lead them this year!🩵🩷” - Rachel Regan

“Emma and I met through being roommates, and by the time we had rushed Laguna together she had become one of my closest friends! The more time we spent together the more I got to know Emma’s soft, gentle spirit that also comes with a fun, hilarious side. She handles every situation with grace and keeps me accountable to always show the love of Christ. The nights we’ve spent talking and laughing endlessly have been some of my favorite college memories! I can’t wait for more spontaneous sweet treat runs, planning trips together, and being roomies again! Thanks for being the best answered prayer!!” - Meg Goodsell

“Meg has been an answered prayer from the beginning! I was scrambling to find a roommate last year, and the Lord placed her right in my path! We clicked pretty instantly, and when we both ended up rushing Laguna , I was over joyed! Meg has been one of my greatest blessings college has given me! She is consistent, hilarious, and thoughtful! She loves the Lord so deeply, and is always pushing me and those around her closer to him! She gives the best advice, and is always there when I need to talk!
