Meet second Monday of month at Panera Bread in Slidell but occasionally at local restaurant. My name is Eslie and I am the organizer of this fast growing book club filled with nice book lovers. Please share !�

1. We meet Second Monday of every month unless fall on Holiday
2. We meet at Panera Bread at 6pm
3. We select books by taking all suggestions from members and picking randomly.
4. All book meetings are posted HERE. So RSVP at each event.

Country music icon Dolly Parton’s former getaway has hit the market for $2 million in Solvang, the “Danish capital of America.” Reports indicate Parton purchased the property through Dolly Parton Enterprises in 2004 and used it as a retreat for nearly a decade. The home spans about 2,600 square feet with 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, and several personal touches tied to her ownership still remain. Among them is a stained-glass window bearing Parton’s name and signature butterfly symbol, giving the property a direct connection to one of country music’s most recognizable figures. Our hearts are with Dolly Parton’s family, friends, and fellow fans. Dolly is held in high regard by libraries, having launched the Imagination Library in 1995. What began as a program for preschool children and their families in East Tennessee to receive a specially selected book each month turned into an international organization that has gifted more than 332 million books to more than 3 million children. Dolly’s love of reading even spread to New Orleans, with our friends partnering with the Imagination Library to give New Orleans children the gift of books.

As our executive director, Emily Painton, said of Dolly’s passing, “We drape our libraries in a coat of many colors today as we mourn literacy’s greatest champion.”
