🗳️ Empowering the Next Generation of Voters! 🇺🇸

Today, Sister Silta and her students took an important step toward civic engagement! Five young adults (with one missing from the photo) took the initiative to become registered voters!

We’re incredibly proud of these young adults for recognizing the importance of making their voices heard and taking an active role in shaping their communities and our democracy.

Their voices matter. Their votes matter. Their futures matter! 🗳️❤️💙

Tau Iota Omega Chapter members Ayana Carr-Rogers and Deoine Reed joined the League of Women Voters 🗳️ of St. Tammany at Community Church ⛪️ of Covington for a voter education and registration outreach initiative. During the event, church members and visitors were encouraged to register to vote, verify and update their voter registration information, and become familiar with important dates for early voting and Election Day. Participants were also reminded of the importance of knowing what will appear on the ballot before casting their votes. This collaborative effort supported the chapter’s continued commitment to voter education, civic engagement, and empowering members of the community to participate in the electoral process.

On Monday, September 14, 2026, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated®, and The Masons came together for a Voter Registration Training at the Hammond City Council Annex.

The training prepared participants to assist with canvassing neighborhoods and making calls to individuals in Tangipahoa Parish who were not registered to vote. Through this collaborative effort, members worked together to educate, engage, and empower our community while encouraging greater civic participation.

It was wonderful to see organizations unite with a shared commitment to strengthening our community and helping ensure that every eligible citizen had the information and resources needed to register to vote. 🩷💚❤️🤍🖤💛💙💛

On Sunday, Sister Monique Brown and our Alpha Phi Alpha Brother Ron Randolph, attended and participated in Sunday School and Mission Service at Little Mt. Zion Baptist Church ⛪️ in Slidell, Louisiana.

Following the services, they welcomed members of the congregation and provided assistance with voter 🗳️ registration. They also assisted individuals with making necessary updates to their existing voter registration information, including changes of address, phone numbers, and other pertinent information.

This outreach provided an opportunity to engage directly with members of the congregation, promote voter education and civic participation, and help ensure that eligible voters have accurate and up-to-date voter registration information.
