What a night of celebration, service, fellowship, and excitement for the future! ๐ฆ๐๐
The Slickville Lions Club proudly held our Charter Celebration as we reflected on another successful year of serving our community and prepared to officially kick off a brand-new Lions year filled with purpose and heart.( This is gonna be a long and exciting posts and some flooding of pics)
We were honored to welcome DGE Ron Brownand Lion Kathy Brown as they joined us for this special evening. A memorable milestone took place as DGE Ron conducted his very first new member induction, beautifully weaving in his DG theme for the year ๐ ๐๐We are excited to officially welcome our newest members, Lions Gary and Barb Koah, to the pride! We know you will make an incredible impact through service and friendship.
Our incoming officers were then installed by VDG Amanda K. Remic in a way only she could make unforgettable โ with a fun and heartfelt Toy Story-themed installation, โYouโve Got a Friend in Service.โ Each officer received a special Toy Story character keychain as a reminder that leadership is about continuing to unlock doors of kindness, service, and opportunity while remembering that in Lionism, you always have a friend in service.
We also had the privilege of recognizing some truly outstanding Lions for their dedication and service this past year. Congratulations to our Lions receiving special honors, including the Lions of Pennsylvania Fellow- Lion Mary McCormick, Western Pennsylvania Hearing Fellow- VDG Amanda , and Melvin Jones Fellow (MJF) recognitions โ honors that reflect incredible commitment to service and giving.
In true Slickville Lions fashion, while our club traditionally names a Melvin Jones Fellow recipient every other year, we had a special moment to celebrate Lion Liz Henderson who was selected for this prestigious honor last year. Since her award arrived after our Charter Celebration, we proudly made sure she received the recognition she so greatly deserves this evening! ๐
We were also excited to celebrate the generosity and impact of our club through LCIF donation board fellowships. Congratulations to our club members who earned the honor to name fellows through these donations, including a fellowship named through the District Board Lion Shelley Hannah Umphress named KL Jeff Valero and another earned at the May State Convention by VDG Amanda Remic -who named Lion Dave Cindric โ whose named Melvin Jones Fellow recognition is still on its way!
Another incredibly heartfelt moment of the evening came as Lion Mary, our previous Lion of the Year recipient, had the honor of presenting this yearโs Lion of the Year Award โ an award lovingly named after her father โ to none other than our beloved King Lion Jeff. There truly could not have been a more deserving and emotional moment. โค๏ธ His continued strength, dedication, and determination to defy the odds inspire us all and remind us what the true spirit of Lionism looks like.
And of course, no Slickville Lions celebration would be complete without fun, laughter, fellowship, and another delicious meal shared together at Rizzoโs.
As we close one incredible year and prepare to open another, we are filled with gratitude, excitement, and pride for all that lies ahead.
๐ Hereโs to continuing to serve, support one another, unlock new doors of service, and MAKE A BUZZ IN THE WORLD! ๐ฆโจ
