Sleepy Hollow Service Club of Illinois

It is a group of volunteers who plan holiday events for the village, organize clean-ups at the park and along Route 72, as well as other activities that improve the appearance of our village and benefits us all. Again, we are an all volunteer club open to all residents of the village and surrounding area. The club holds monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month. At these meetings we do t

hings such as plan for upcoming community events, help with/plan community improvement projects, assist with youth projects and other village related activities. We receive NO tax dollars. All our funds come from the events we run and donations, which is why your help is so important. The events we wholly sponsor and run are:
- The Easter Egg Hunt for children from pre-school to middle school held at Sabatino Park, which includes a visit from the Easter Bunny, and is held on the Saturday before Easter.
- The 4th of July which includes the fun run, fishing derby, parade, food tent and concert closing with the fireworks show.
- Halloween in the Hollow which includes the costume parade and contest, the chili contest, hayride, food tent, bonfire and, of course, the Headless Horsemen, held the Saturday before Halloween.
- Holiday in the Hollow which includes the Sleepy Hollow Elementary School chimes and choir concert, the lighting of the village flag pole lights and Christmas trees, and a visit with Santa and is held the first Saturday in December. All these events are set-up, run, and managed by the Service Club. There is no charge to join the club. Whereas we hope you can attend all our monthly meetings, it is not mandatory. We welcome all help and volunteers.
