🎣 It’s peak fishing season in Oklahoma!

Choctaw tribal members can fish not only on the Choctaw reservation, but also on the Chickasaw, Cherokee, Creek, and Seminole reservations—all without a state-issued fishing license thanks to the 5 Tribes Wildlife Management Reciprocity Agreement.

If you’re fishing within these tribal boundaries and receive a citation from an Oklahoma game warden for not having a state license, don’t worry. Contact the Choctaw Nation Legal Department through the Member Legal Assistance page:

Shinnecock Nation's tribal citizens are taking their fight for aboriginal fishing rights to federal court, aiming to protect the traditional practices that have sustained their people for generations.
