The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship is more than just a tournament—it’s a platform for advancing minorities in golf. As the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf, it provides student-athletes from HBCUs, HSIs, and other minority-serving institutions the opportunity to compete at the highest level while fostering leadership and career development.

This championship continues to break barriers, creating pathways for the next generation of golfers and industry leaders. Through competition, mentorship, and opportunity, the PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship is shaping the future of golf—one swing at a time.

Charlie Sifford didn’t just play golf—he changed it forever. ⛳️ A true trailblazer who broke barriers and paved the way for future generations.

Charlie Sifford was the first Black golfer to play on the PGA Tour, breaking its racial barrier in 1961 after fighting against the “Caucasian-only” clause that had excluded Black players for decades. He endured racism and discrimination throughout his career but persevered, winning two PGA Tour events (the 1967 Greater Hartford Open and the 1969 Los Angeles Open) and proving he belonged at the highest level of the sport. In 2004, he became the first African American inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as a pioneer who opened doors for others in golf.

🎉 12 Days of Community: FWTL Ambassadors Share Their Causes 🎉
Today, we’re thrilled to launch our 12 Days of Community campaign, aligning with the 12 weekdays leading up to Christmas and the season of giving. This campaign highlights the incredible work of our FWTL Ambassadors and the causes they passionately support. At FairWays to Leadership, we’re committed to fostering leaders who uplift the communities they serve, exemplifying the spirit of service and leadership.

To kick things off, we’re featuring Manuela Fonseca from the University of Central Florida, who supports Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida.

Manuela shares: “I support Ronald McDonald House Charities because it creates a home away from home for families going through one of the most difficult moments of their lives. I’ve cherished the opportunity to bring joy to these families, whether through baking treats, playing with children, or sharing my culture through traditional Colombian dishes.”

Stay tuned as we continue this journey of impact, spotlighting each of our 12 Ambassadors and the amazing nonprofits they champion.
