What a night at the Skull Valley Fire Station!
We want to take a moment to sincerely thank all of our friends, neighbors, and community members who came out and spent the evening with us. By our count, nearly 50 people stopped by, and the station was filled with something we don't get enough of these days—smiles, laughter, handshakes, stories, and good old-fashioned community fellowship.
In a world that seems to move faster every day, it's easy to lose touch with the people right down the road. Last night was a reminder of just how important it is to slow down, gather together, and reconnect with one another. Seeing life, conversation, and friendship filling the walls of our old fire station was truly something special.
In fact, it was such a success that we've decided we'd like to make these gatherings a regular event! Maybe next time we'll even add a little music and dancing. As long as we can continue receiving donations and community support, these events will remain free and open to everyone.
A huge thank you goes out to Megan Farrell, owner of the local Sara Lee bread route, for generously donating all of the buns. We would also like to thank everyone who brought side dishes, desserts, and homemade goodies to share. And if you missed Miss Carla Pool's homemade cake, well... let's just say you missed one of the highlights of the evening!
To those who made cash donations to help keep these community events going, please know how much we appreciate your support. Every contribution helps bring our community together.
Most importantly, we'd like to recognize our volunteer responders. These men and women spend countless hours training, responding to emergencies, maintaining equipment, and caring for the station—all to help keep our little town safe. Their dedication often goes unseen, but it never goes unappreciated. To each of them, we offer our deepest gratitude and respect.
We'll be announcing our next community gathering soon, and we hope to see even more smiling faces there.
Until then, thank you all for making Skull Valley such a special place to call home—and please remember to stay Firewise as we move into this dry fire season.
Stay safe, stay connected, and we'll see you soon!
