What an incredible year for the Skowhegan Rotary Club! 💙

Through our shared commitment to Service Above Self, we proudly gave over $14,000 back to our community in 2025 - supporting heating assistance, the Backpack Program, tree planting efforts, a new bus shelter (coming soon!), Norridgewock & Skowhegan Public Libraries, Somerset Humane Society, local food pantries, scholarships, Honor Flight Maine, and so much more.

This is what community looks like - neighbors helping neighbors, together.

If you are looking for a way to give back, connect, and have lots of fun along the way, we would love to have you join us!

A big thank you to Chelsey Carrier for sponsoring Maygan Dunlap, and to Kristie LeBlanc for sponsoring Chelsea VanGorden.

Both Maygan and Chelsea were officially pinned today - marking the start of their Rotary journey!

Please join us in giving them a warm welcome - we are so glad to have you both with us and look forward to the impact we will make together in our community!

What a truly lovely Rotary meeting today! 💛

We were so happy to welcome Tiffany Comis, CEO of Redington-Fairview General Hospital, who shared her genuine excitement and pride in leading such a beautiful, community-centered hospital.

Her warmth, enthusiasm, and heartfelt commitment to Redington-Fairview and our community made for a very special and uplifting conversation, and we are grateful she spent time with us today.

🎄✨ The Skowhegan Rotary Club, along with some very special elves, had the joy of sponsoring 36 kids from KVCAP Pre-K this year — providing outfits, gifts, and holiday magic straight from their wish lists! ❤️🎁

A huge thank you to Bigelow Brewing Company (Pam!) for once again welcoming us into your warm and wonderful space for our annual wrapping party. We’re so grateful to have a place where we can gather, wrap, laugh, and enjoy true fellowship together.

Moments like these remind us what community is all about. 💙

We have been a long time supporter of the Skowhegan Food Backpack Program and Pantry serving children in the MSAD #54 school district. See the post below about how to help bridge the meal gap over the December Holiday Break. 🎁

🌟 Skowhegan Rotary Meeting Highlights!

What a fantastic Rotary meeting today! The Heritage House Restaurant - Skowhegan, Maine brought back their lunch buffet, and it was absolutely amazing. If you haven’t tried it yet, you definitely should!

Our guest speaker, Danielle Denis from Somerset Public Health, shared inspiring updates about her important work in MSAD 54 through the Drug Free Communities Support Grant. She highlighted the Positive Social Norms Campaign at Skowhegan Area Middle School, which uses local data to correct misperceptions and celebrate the majority of students who make healthy choices. This campaign empowers youth, shifts community perceptions, and builds protective factors that support long-term wellness.

We are also proud to share that the Rotary Board approved four $1,500 donations to support food security in Somerset County, benefiting:
🍎 St. Anthony’s Soup Kitchen
🥫 Skowhegan Food Cupboard
🍞 People Who Care Food Cupboard
🎒 The Back Pack Program & Pantry

Our club is growing and making an impact, and we’d love for you to join us! If you’re interested in learning more or applying to be part of the Skowhegan Rotary, please reach out. Together, we are making a difference right here in our community. 💙

✨Community in Action!✨

Our amazing Skowhegan Rotarians rolled up their sleeves at the Margaret Chase Smith Community School to help bring a brand-new clothing closet to life!

A huge shoutout to Rotarian Steven St Pierre, Branch Manager at Hammond Lumber, and Vern Worthen, Residential Construction Instructor at Somerset Career & Technical Center (SCTC), for stepping in to take measurements for shelving that will be built and donated for the space. 👏

This project is a perfect example of Rotary’s motto: Service Above Self 💙💛 - we can’t wait to see the finished closet helping kids and families in our community!
