What cool thing did you do last week? Well, on May 29th, 2026, the Lyric Opera Stage Artists, members of AGMA & the Lyric Opera Chorus, had the honor of being invited to sing in the new Elie Wiesel Auditorium at the Obama Presidential Center. The Center invited us to work with acousticians to put the finishing touches on the acoustics and the e-coustics system in the auditorium. We brought an assortment of styles of choral music including opera, musical theater, patriotic songs, gospel songs, some with solos, some acapella. 34 singers from our chorus (past & present) turned out that day along with our Chorus Director, Michael Black and LOSA accompanist, Teresa Kang.

It was a beautiful, joy-filled day and one we won’t forget! We sang our little hearts out for around an hour for a very sweet and attentive audience of Obama Center staff and invited guests from the neighborhood! Before we started our session in the Wiesel Auditorium, we were invited to tour the Museum & Campus and it filled our hearts up to overflowing. Such a hopeful, honest, and beautifully displayed record of history. It is 100% worth a visit!

LOSA is grateful to Brook Rosini at the Obama Center who attentively coordinated EVERYTHING to make the day enjoyable and run as smooth as possible! Also grateful for the acousticians, Carl, Steven & team, who made the afternoon an educational and fun experience for us! Thanks upon thanks to Michael Black and Teresa Kang who joined us to help us sing our best!

But the hugest thanks goes to every member of LOSA who took time out of their day to give the gift that we give best to this project and to this community! Big hearts and big voices!!! We are thrilled and so honored for Lyric Opera Stage Artists to partner with The Obama Presidential Center as the Wiesel Auditorium was commissioned! Lyric Opera of Chicago

Big thanks to this amazing group of LOSA members for bringing a beautiful concert to new friends at Beacon Hill!!! Gorgeous singing and a packed audience make for a great evening! We’re so happy to make Beacon Hill a new partner! Thank you, Nicole Besa, Michelle Wrighte, John Concepcion, Tom Potter and Sarah Jenks for bringing your music to these sweet folks! And thank you to Katy and Olivia for inviting us and making us feel so welcome!

It was a real joy to sing for the folks at Westminster Place this week! This wonderful group of LOSA artists brought their finest with a wide-ranging program of opera, art songs, operetta, musical theater and popular songs!!! A really nice afternoon spent with a lovely audience!

We had such a wonderful time together performing at Pleasant Home! A gorgeous space and such a great audience in attendance! Noelle Combs and staff did such an amazing job of making it a very special evening for all of us!!
