Team Caleb Our mission is to provide youth programs in underprivileged communities with sports equipment to play the games that every child loves.

Team Caleb began in 2015, when our close friend, Caleb Maeir, was diagnosed with cancer. As a humble group of high-schoolers, we rallied together in support of Caleb and to remind him that he was never alone in his courageous, but difficult, battle. Prior to his diagnosis, Caleb was an avid sports player. Between basketball and baseball, he was a model athlete, setting the ultimate precedent for s

portsmanship and leadership. Of everything he endured over his three year battle, one of the hardest was stepping away from the game. While there was nothing we could do to help Caleb play sports again, there are many children all over the country who we can help. These children are unable to play the games that Caleb loved due to lacking funds and equipment. Since Caleb’s passing in December 2017, we have made it our mission to keep Caleb’s legacy alive by raising funds and donating equipment to sports programs in underprivileged communities.

This Thanksgiving weekend holds a special place in our hearts as we reflect on what would have been Caleb's 26th birthday. Words can't fully capture our gratitude for our partnership with שער שוויון (The Equalizer), an organization making a profound impact on children across Israel who have been displaced from their homes due to the ongoing war.

In honor of Caleb's birthday, The Equalizer held a meaningful class session today for the teams sponsored by Team Caleb. The children learned about Caleb’s life and the incredible light he brought into the world. They explored the power of optimism—how to find the silver linings even when life gets tough.

Caleb had a gift for facing challenges with a smile, no matter how hard the day was. Knowing that his legacy inspires these children to stay strong and seek out the positives in life fills us with hope and pride.

Thank you to The Equalizer for honoring Caleb in such a beautiful way and for continuing to carry his light forward. Additionally, thank you to all of our generous donors - none of this is possible without your help. We are so grateful for all of you, and we cannot wait to see what is to come in the second year of our partnership with The Equalizer 💛

To our friends and community,
Last year we launched a partnership with The Equalizer, an organization that supports underprivileged children across Israel.

Since October 7th, their primary focus has been to help those affected by the war, providing these children with academic tutoring and mentorship, 2-3 sports training sessions a week, and bi-monthly tournaments where they participate against other local teams. Our financial support, crucial in overcoming The Equalizer's biggest barrier—funding—enabled them to enroll 55 more children from Kiryat Malachi into their program.

In addition to the comprehensive support provided by The Equalizer, teams sponsored by Team Caleb received exclusive jerseys and engaged in classroom sessions specifically focused on Caleb's life. These sessions explored his values and the enduring lessons from his legacy, helping these children navigate challenging times. Through these initiatives, The Equalizer excels in perpetuating Caleb’s memory, both on and off the field.

We are so proud to be partnering with שער שוויון (The Equalizer) to help supply these children impacted by the war with an opportunity to play sports and keep up academically. We stand with Israel and its children through these difficult times, and we hope the teams we sponsor will help bring light into the lives of those who need it most. ANNOUNCING OUR LARGEST DONATION TO DATE:
We are thrilled to share that Team Caleb is sponsoring three teams through The Equalizer, a remarkable Israeli non-denominational, apolitical, and non-profit organization dedicated to providing athletic and academic mentorship to at-risk children in Israel.

Since the outbreak of the recent conflict, our commitment to standing by Israel and its children has been unwavering. Joining forces with The Equalizer, an extraordinary organization that brings hope and joy to children amidst the challenges of war, is a tremendous honor. These children are witnessing the unfolding of conflict right before their eyes, and it is organizations like The Equalizer that ensure they are not only shielded from being left behind but also given the tools to thrive both on and off the court.

Team Caleb’s generous donation will have a profound impact on the lives of over 50 boys and girls across Israel. This achievement is a testament to the incredible support we’ve received from each one of you. Team Caleb feels the weight of the profound challenges our friends and family in Israel are facing, and our hearts are with them during these unimaginable times. While it is undeniably challenging to overcome the horrors, even from a distance, we draw inspiration from individuals in Israel and across the globe who have shown us that actions, even in the face of adversity, can bring light back into the world. It is critical everyone does their part in fighting this battle, and now it is our turn.

In response to the current situation, we are more committed than ever to our mission of bringing the joy of sports to kids. Today, we're honored to share that our mission is expanding to Israel. We are in the process of connecting with an organization that will help us provide young Israeli children the chance to experience the healing power of sports, and we will provide updates as the details get ironed out.

While sports won't solve all problems, they will offer a respite, a much needed break from the harsh realities. As we extend our mission abroad, we aim to bring hope, positivity, and a sense of normalcy to those who need it the most.

Everybody deserves the chance to play. Especially these kids. Especially now.

Together, we stand strong for Israel.
