Do you have questions that you want the Skokie Village Board candidates to answer at the upcoming nonpartisan candidate forums hosted by the League of Women Voters of Evanston and the Skokie Public Library? If so, submit questions by this Friday! Here are the instructions: "Questions must be appropriate to the race and directed to all candidates. Questions can be submitted by email– [email protected] –Specify which forum the question is for."

The Alliance has been a force for good in Skokie, bringing us together to make vital changes that have inspired civic engagement and action all over our village. In April 2025, the first election after the implementation of our three referendums, we will have jumped from an average candidate turnout of 1.1 candidates per open seat (the worst in the area) to a potential 2.9 candidates per seat (the best in the area)!

We, the voters of Skokie, will have real choices on our ballots in 2025 -- all thanks to the thriving civic community we've helped build, that will continue to flourish far beyond the scope of the Alliance. Our nonpartisan ballot initiative committee will dissolve by the end of the year, making way for new organizing efforts focused on the next phases of civic growth in Skokie.

With that in mind, we're hosting one final event to bring us together again to celebrate this wonderful community and all of our accomplishments.

Please attend our sunset celebration on Saturday, January 11, 2025. We will gather at Sketchbook Brewing (4901 Main St) from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. All are welcome! We hope to see you there!
