Stay tuned as our Sissonville Fire Department shares safety information this week, durning Fire Prevention Week.

🚒⚡ Fire Prevention Week is Here! ⚡🚒

The Sissonville Fire Department is proud to join the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in recognizing Fire Prevention Week, October 4–10.

This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Safe Charging Is a Superpower,” focuses on helping prevent fires caused by lithium-ion batteries. Whether you’re charging your phone, tablet, power tools, e-bike, or other rechargeable devices, making smart charging choices can help keep your family safe.

🦸‍♂️ Use your charging superpower by:
🔋 Using the charger designed for your device.
🏠 Charging on hard, flat surfaces—never on beds, couches, or under pillows.
⚠️ Replacing damaged or swollen batteries immediately.
🚪 Keeping exits clear and never blocking doorways with charging devices.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing daily fire safety tips, helpful information, and simple ways you can protect your home and loved ones.

Have questions about fire safety? We’re always here to help! Feel free to contact the Sissonville Fire Department for additional information or to learn more about keeping your family safe.
