As many of you have likely seen, employees with The Beverage Market on Call Road in Sissonville are currently on strike as contract negotiations continue between the company and Teamsters Local 175. Workers have expressed concerns involving wages, retirement benefits, and healthcare costs.
We recognize these employees as hardworking members of our local community who help keep area businesses supplied and operating every day. We hope both sides are able to come to a fair and timely resolution for everyone involved.
With picketing activity taking place along Call Road, we also want to remind motorists to use caution when traveling through the area. Please be alert for increased pedestrian activity near the roadway, reduce speed, and help ensure the safety of both workers and drivers.
