Hello there! We are excited to announce the official start of the Northeast South Dakota Anglers Association (NESDAA)!
NESDAA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed this year who's mission is to provide underprivileged children and communities with the means and opportunities to go fishing.
NESDAA is based out of Sisseton, South Dakota and plans to serve the greater northeast portion of South Dakota. Our goal is to serve the areas of, but not limited to: Roberts, Day, Marshall, Grant, Codington, Spink, and Brown Counties.
Through education, access to resources, and community engagement, we aim to foster a love for the sport, promote environmental stewardship, and create lasting memories that inspire and empower future generations. Our commitment is to ensure that everyone, regardless of their background, can enjoy the benefits of fishing and connect with nature in meaningful ways.
One of the programs that NESDAA plans to offer is the "Fish with a Cop Program." This program aims to provide children with the opportunity to go on guided fishing trips with law enforcement officers, providing them with equipment to use for fishing during the trip which can also be used afterwards.
Our Board of Directors includes dedicated deputy sheriffs, police officers, and conservation officers, with three of our directors serving as school resource officers. Their combined expertise and passion for community service are at the heart of our organization.
As we embark on this exciting journey, we are in the early stages of developing NESDAA and have numerous plans and goals ahead. To kickstart our efforts, we will soon be launching an initial fundraising drive to provide fishing equipment for our upcoming programs.
