🧵 Meet the Maker: Marta Cumez

Marta is a master weaver and mother of nine from Guatemala. As the primary provider for her family, she runs a small store and tortilla business by day — then picks up her loom in the evenings and quiet moments to weave.

Through her partnership with Sharing the Dream, Marta's weaving becomes more than a craft. It's income. It's opportunity. It's a future for her children that she once only dreamed of for herself.

Every purchase helps a woman like Marta keep building that future. 💙

🤝 Core Value: Teamwork

Behind every piece you wear or gift, there's a team — artisans working side by side in Guatemala, sharing skills, supporting each other, and lifting each other up.

At Sharing the Dream, teamwork isn't just how the jewelry gets made — it's the whole point. When artisans succeed together, families and communities thrive together.

That's the dream we're sharing. 💛

It's Granny Zumba at the Elder Center! Our friends from .atitlan led the elders in some exercise during their visit this week. We love to see the elders smilling and laughing while they keep their bodies healthy!

"Sharing the Dream is about beautiful artisans, handcrafts, and so much more.

In this photo, women from the elder community are teaching us how to make tortillas — hundreds of them, headed home to share with everyone gathering to swap stories, learn a craft, and maybe dance a little too. Their clothing is woven in colors that carry deep heritage. Faces with so much to share with the world."

Watch! This turtle reveal its secret. 🐢

This hand-carved puzzle box hides a tiny treasure box inside — four detachable pieces come apart to reveal it. Carved by Los Cuchareros, a group of young artisans in San Lucas Tolimán, from collected (not harvested) wood and finished with beeswax.

Find it in the store now!

A new month means new decorations at the Elder Center! On Friday, the elders had the opportunity to get creative while coloring new decorations to adorn the walls of the Center.
