Augustana University Student Members of the American Chemical Society SMACS Our mission is to promote green chemistry and support chemistry on campus and in the community.

We are the Augustana Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS). Our mission is to promote science literacy on campus and in the community, foster an understanding of sustainable chemistry, and assist students in presenting their research at regional and national ACS meetings. We also aim to both increase interest in and provide accurate information regarding careers in STEM disciplines.

Hello Augie students! You may or may not have heard- SMACS is hosting a Career Panel of Augustana Alumni tomorrow, Friday, November 4th at 3:00 PM in FSC 114. Come hear four amazing speakers talk about their careers and answer any of your questions. This is a great opportunity and we encourage everyone to attend! Added bonus- COOKIES! Hello SMACS members and Happy Viking Days! We have finalized our float design but we need help bringing it to life. Float building is tomorrow in the parking lot across from Humanities under the tent. You are welcome and encouraged to attend any time from 4 pm to 8 pm. Added bonus- there will be pizza! And if you help, you get the opportunity to ride on the float in the parade on Saturday, so please come! See you then :)
