Catch trail maintenance tonight at Leaders Park. Thursday, August 27, at 6 p.m.

This week, we’ll focus on using saws and trimmers to clear branches and overgrowth along the trail. The amount of trimming we complete will depend on the number of volunteers available.

Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves, water, and bug spray. No trail maintenance experience is needed—we’ll provide the tools and direction when you arrive.

Race night is taking over at Great Bear!

The singletrack at Great Bear will be reserved for a race hosted by Sioux Falls Bike Racing beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 12. Please plan your ride accordingly and help us give racers a clear course.

Better yet—trade your trail ride for a front-row seat! Come race, cheer on the racers, soak up the action, and Chill at the Hill at Great Bear. Bring your friends, bring your energy, and get ready for a fun evening of bikes and community.

Join Falls Area SingleTrack on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m. at the Great Bear Ski Valley FAST trails for an evening of trimming throughout the trail system. Volunteers of all experience levels are welcome.

Please bring water, work gloves, closed-toe shoes, and clothing suitable for trail work.

For everyone’s safety, the downhill lines will be closed from 6–8 p.m. while maintenance is underway. All other trails will remain open. Thank you for giving our volunteers the space to work safely and efficiently!

The trails at Great Bear will be busy this weekend!

Course setup for the inaugural Crazy Bear Ultra will take place tonight, with runners hitting the trails early tomorrow, Saturday, July 18. The event includes 20K, 30K, and 50K distances using both the original Great Bear trails and new trails built by FAST.

Please expect course markings tonight and increased trail traffic throughout the day tomorrow. If you’re not racing, consider cheering on the runners as they take on nearly 1,200 feet of climbing per loop! The lodge at Great Bear will be open during the event.
