Come and join Minnehaha Lodge #5 at the Masonic Center for their Downtown Sioux Falls Trick or Treat Haunted House on October 25th from 1p to 3p. The first half of the time we will have the lights on and the animatronics off for the "littles" and the last half will have the lights off and animatronics on for anyone who dares to enter.

Last year it was a blast! We hope to see you there!

The Masonic Medical Research Institute (MMRI) is something our fraternity can be proud of, and something worth supporting. Our Brother Rudy Navarrete came up with the concept of creating a documentary to shine a light on what it's like to be homeless in Sioux Falls. With a little help from his friends, the movie "24 hours on 8th Street" was born. Well done Brother! We hope this helps bring the awareness needed to this issue and others get involved in their communities!

Last evening, Minnehaha Lodge No. 5 gathered for our annual Past Masters' Dinner and Awards Night, and what a memorable evening it was.

The night began with a wonderful meal and fellowship among Brothers. One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of beautiful Past Master's lapel pins to our Past Masters in attendance to recognize their service and leadership to the Lodge over the years.

We were also honored to recognize several Brothers whose dedication and contributions have made a significant impact on our Lodge and our fraternity.

🔹 Brother James Byers was named Minnehaha Lodge No. 5 Mason of the Year in recognition of his exceptional service, commitment, and unwavering support of the Craft.

🔹 Worshipful Brother Ryan Harrison received an Outstanding Year Award for his remarkable efforts and leadership throughout the year.

🔹 Brother Jon Woods was presented with the Traveling Trowel Award for his dedication to visiting other Lodges and assisting with degree work across the jurisdiction, helping to strengthen the bonds of Brotherhood wherever he traveled.

While the awards and recognition were certainly special, perhaps the most moving moment of the evening came when Brother James Byers presented Worshipful Brother Ryan Harrison with a restored Junior Warden's chair. Brother Byers discovered the chair and painstakingly restored it to its former beauty before presenting it to Brother Harrison.

To some, it may simply be a chair. To those present, it represented far more. The symbolism behind the Junior Warden's chair, the journey it represented, and the story behind its restoration made the presentation deeply meaningful. It was one of those rare moments that reminded everyone in attendance why Freemasonry is so much more than meetings and degrees, it is about friendship, mentorship, tradition, and the bonds that unite us across generations.

It was an evening filled with laughter, fellowship, gratitude, and more than a few emotional moments. Congratulations to all of our award recipients, and thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success.

Our Brother and Vietnam Veteran, Ron Hammer, got a well deserved Welcome Home after his trip on Midwest Honor Flight Mission #30! Thank you Natalie Hurst for accompanying our Brother on his trip!
