When someone has been given really good news, you cannot keep them quiet. They tell everyone.

That is what this last week is about. People who have been set free by Christ's forgiveness want others to have it too. Jesus called it the Great Commission. But it is not a to-do list to earn anything. As Luther said, the law says "do this" and it never gets done; grace says "believe in this One" and everything is already done. The good we do simply flows from being forgiven.

Join us this final week of the series, on Sunday 10:15-11:00am or Wednesday 6:30pm, Gathering Room. Small groups throughout the week.

Why do we do any of this? Most of us would say: to become better people. More moral, more disciplined, further along than last year.

This week we are pushing on that. In the Bible, "holy" does not mean improved. It means set apart, and it is Christ who does the setting apart, not our effort. So the church is not here to make you better. It is here to deliver forgiveness and set you free.

If you are worn out from trying to measure up, come this week. Sunday 10:15-11:00am or Wednesday 6:30pm, in the Gathering Room. Small groups throughout the week.

The countdown is on! There are only 5 days left to donate items for the Bazaar. If you've been meaning to clean out a closet, cupboard, or storage room, now's the time!

We're accepting gently used toys, linens, household and kitchen items, home décor, Christmas decorations, jewelry, Norwegian items, and unfinished crafts through October 2.

Drop donations off at the atrium tables near Reformation Hall. Thank you for your support!

There's a voice that keeps score: everything you should've done, everything you still haven't. Scripture calls it the Law, and it never runs out of material.

This week we're asking what a church actually does about it: it speaks a second word, the Gospel, that silences the accusing voice and hands you a peace you didn't earn.

Come hear how that word reaches us, in preaching and in the sacraments. Sunday 10:15–11:00am or Wednesday 6:30pm, Gathering Room, with small discussion groups throughout the week.

With Intrepid Hearts: Fall Reformation Retreat

Join us on Saturday, October 24 from 8:30–11:30 AM for a morning of learning, fellowship, and conversation with Dr. Steven Paulson.

Inspired by the opening words of the Lutheran Confessions, “With intrepid hearts we believe, teach, and confess,” Dr. Paulson will explore two important theological controversies from the time of the Reformation, what was at stake, and why these conversations still matter for Christians today.

The morning will include coffee and treats, two teaching sessions, and a brunch break. Confirmation-aged students and adults are welcome!

Cost:
$15 per person
$25 for two
$10 for each additional person

Come spend Reformation Weekend learning more about Lutheran faith, history, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
