🧡 THIS is why we do what we do! 🧡

Our good friends Matt and Luann DeWild invited a friend along for the hunt, and we were able to loan out some of Wheelchair Adventures’ adaptive hunting equipment to help get him in the field.

And the result?

His very first South Dakota ringneck pheasant! 🐓🙌

With the help of adaptive equipment from Be Adaptive Equipment, he was able to get set up, get out with everyone else, and experience a successful South Dakota pheasant hunt.

Sometimes a piece of adaptive equipment is so much more than equipment. It can be the difference between watching from the sidelines and actually being part of the experience.

That is one of the biggest reasons Wheelchair Adventures continues to build our adaptive equipment loan program. We want this equipment being USED. We want people getting outdoors, trying something new, returning to something they once loved, and making memories with friends and family.

Congratulations on your FIRST South Dakota rooster! Hopefully it’s the first of many! 🧡♿️🦃

🧡 Two Weekends. Two Incredible Hunts. A Whole Lot of Memories! 🦃

The past two weekends, Wheelchair Adventures has been fortunate to help out and participate in two incredible disabled pheasant hunts — the NWTF Wheelin’ Sportsmen Hunt and the Freedom Hunt!

A HUGE shoutout to Tad and Robbie with Sioux River Wildlife for welcoming all of these hunters to their absolutely magnificent facility! The amount of time, work, hospitality, and generosity that goes into making weekends like these possible is incredible. From the guides and volunteers to everyone working behind the scenes — THANK YOU!

We also want to give a special thank you tThe National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) for helping sponsor the Wheelin’ Sportsmen Hunt and continuing to support opportunities that help people with disabilities experience the outdoors.

There were plenty of birds, some great shooting, lots of laughs, and most importantly, memories and friendships that will last long after the hunt is over.

These weekends are a great reminder of why we do what we do. A disability shouldn’t mean giving up the outdoors or the experiences you love. Sometimes it just takes the right equipment, a little creativity, and a whole bunch of great people willing to make it happen. ♿️🧡

Thank you to everyone involved with both the NWTF Wheelin’ Sportsmen Hunt and the Freedom Hunt for allowing Wheelchair Adventures to be a small part of two amazing weekends!

The past couple of years, Wheelchair Adventures has taken a group to the El Riad Shrine for PopROCKS!, and we’ve always had an absolute blast! This year, the El Riad Shrine reached out and invited us back for another concert with Undercover Band - Sioux Falls, and we’d love to get a group together again!

We just had 6 tickets open up for our Wheelchair Adventures disability group outing to the Sioux Falls Canaries game TODAY at 4:05 PM! 🎉⚾️

This is one of the very last few games of the season, so don’t miss your chance to enjoy some Canaries baseball! 🙌

It sounds like we may get a little rain this afternoon, but it’s supposed to clear up by game time!
