✈️ What a great day!

A big thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for our Community Airshow Cookout. It was awesome spending the day with so many familiar faces, meeting some new friends, enjoying good food, and watching an incredible airshow together.

A special thank you goes out to Owen's Outfitters for once again opening your doors to us and allowing Wheelchair Adventures to host this event at your facility. Having an accessible location with plenty of space, air conditioning, and restrooms made it possible for everyone to relax and enjoy the day.

We’d also like to thank Sioux Falls Airshow and everyone involved in putting on such an outstanding event. The performers put on an incredible show, and we’re grateful our community gets to enjoy something like this each year.

Most of all, thank you to everyone who continues to support Wheelchair Adventures. Whether you came to the cookout, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, or simply continue to encourage what we do, you’re helping us create more opportunities for people with disabilities to get outdoors, connect with others, and be part of experiences like this.

We’re already looking forward to the next adventure. Thanks for making this one such a great day!

⚾ LAST CALL FOR TICKETS! ⚾

Tomorrow is the last day to reserve your discounted tickets for our Wheelchair Adventures outing to the Sioux Falls Canaries!

Join us this Sunday at 4:05 PM as we celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with an afternoon of baseball, friends, and community!

♿ One individual with a disability
👨‍👩‍👧 Up to 2 companions at the same discounted price

We’ll also have:

🚨 URGENT VETERAN OPPORTUNITY – SOUTH DAKOTA PRAIRIE DOG SHOOT 🚨

We have a few last-minute openings for our South Dakota Prairie Dog Shoot with Bad River Bucks & Birds, LLC and we're looking for veterans who can attend on short notice!

📅 Event Dates: July 21–24, 2026
📍 Location: Draper, South Dakota

Event Schedule:
• Tuesday, July 21: Check-in after 5:00 PM
• Wednesday & Thursday: Full days of prairie dog shooting
• Friday, July 24: Check-out by 8:00 AM

This event includes:
✅ Lodging
✅ Meals
✅ An incredible opportunity to spend time with fellow veterans
✅ A fun and challenging prairie dog shooting experience

Veterans are responsible for:
• Transportation to and from the event
• South Dakota predator/varmint license and habitat stamp
• Fi****ms and ammunition

⚠️ IMPORTANT: We are looking for veterans who are 100% committed to attending. Because of the short notice, we need to fill these seats immediately.

🦌 Reminder for South Dakota Hunters with Disabilities! 🦌

South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks have some unique hunting opportunities around Sioux Falls for people with disabilities.

If you’ve been thinking about participating in this year’s South Dakota Municipal Deer Hunt in Sioux Falls or one of the other participating communities, don’t forget that applications are due by July 20!

This is a strictly ARCHERY-ONLY hunt, so all deer must be taken with approved archery equipment.

If you or someone you know has a disability and would love the opportunity to participate but doesn’t have the archery equipment or adaptive equipment needed to hunt safely and independently, Wheelchair Adventures is here to help.

Whether it’s adaptive hunting equipment, archery gear, or helping you figure out what resources are available, we’d love to do everything we can to get you out in the field.

Just send us a message—we’re always happy to help!

How cool is this!! Nice job Tennessee State Parks!

The new Cane Creek Cascades Overlook is wheelchair-friendly, adding another accessible waterfall view at one of Tennessee’s most iconic parks – Fall Creek Falls State Park.

Visitors can now take in waterfall and Cumberland Plateau views from three wheelchair-friendly overlooks at the park:

Fall Creek Falls
Millikan’s Overlook
Cane Creek Cascades Overlook

Each overlook offers smooth, paved paths with accessible parking nearby.

The new Cane Creek Cascades Overlook is located just behind the Betty Dunn Nature Center and sits above the historic Bickford Mill site. The newly paved path and platform provide wheelchair access to cascades that were once much harder to reach.

Planning a weekend? The Lodge, cabins, and campgrounds offer ADA options, and visitors can find wheelchair-friendly routes to the on-site restaurant and Taft Pool.
