He also created a hashtag called to ask those who were critical of the name of the event to also make a donation to the rodeo club “in the name of educating the students about why the name should be changed.” “We want to lead with empathy and compassion,” he said. “We’ve come to a crossroads. Reach out to all board members and student leaders of SD High School Rodeo Club and demand that they publicly apologize for the trauma they caused, and that they receive education from the SD African American History Museum on this issue.

HB 1212 (expands Stand Your Ground law) passed the state legislature and is now headed to Governor Noem's desk. Please contact the Governor's office and urge her to VETO HB 1212.
