Good afternoon,

I just spoke with the National Weather Service. The current heat index is 93°, and it is expected to reach 97° between 4:00–7:00 PM, then slowly cool down afterward.

SEFSA will not be canceling games tonight as we see these temperatures throughout the summer, and our long‑standing policy is to play. Most evenings the index starts dropping right at game time or shortly after.

That said, use your discretion as a coach and parent. If you choose to keep your team home, please notify us, 605-956-1091, no later than 4:30 PM so we can inform the other team and the umpires.

If you are playing tonight:

Bring plenty of fluids.
Consider wet towels or cooling cloths.
If any player feels off, overheated, or unwell, inform the umpires immediately so the player can get attention right away.

If your team is NOT playing, please text or call 605‑956‑1091 and include your opponent’s name so I can contact teams and umpires in advance. I am heading to the diamonds now, so early notice helps a lot.
