Today we say goodbye to our co-founder, Robert Walker.
Robert played an instrumental role in helping Krystal bring Calm Waters to life. From the very beginning, he shared his vision, dedication, and unwavering support in building the foundation of what Calm Waters has become.
Many people may not know that Robert was also the one who came up with the name Calm Waters. The name held deep personal meaning for him. As a Navy veteran, he often spoke about hearing the announcement over the ship's intercom: "Calm waters ahead." Those simple words brought him a sense of peace and reassurance, reminding him that rough seas would not last forever and that better days were ahead. He believed that same message of hope and healing perfectly reflected the mission of our organization—a place where people could find support through life's storms and look forward to calmer waters.
Robert's contributions extended far beyond the early days of our organization. His passion, generosity, wisdom, and belief in the mission helped shape our path and will continue to influence our work for years to come.
As we remember Robert, we celebrate a life of purpose, service, friendship, and compassion. We are deeply grateful for his vision and the legacy he leaves behind. His impact will forever be woven into the heart of Calm Waters and the countless lives that have found hope through its work.
Rest in peace, Robert. Thank you for your service to our country, your dedication to our community, and for giving us a name that continues to remind us that no storm lasts forever and that calmer waters are always ahead. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in every life touched by Calm Waters.
