Join Transformation Project as we get ready for Sioux Falls Pride! We're gathering a crew of volunteers to help build our parade float, make signs, and march with us during the parade.🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

We'll meet on Friday, June 12 from 5–7:30 PM at the Prism Community Center (500 N. Western Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104) to create, connect, and prepare.

Whether you want to help out the night before or walk with us during the parade on Saturday, June 13th, we’d love to have you as part of the team. The legislative process often makes transgender youth an issue, rather than understanding that they are making laws that affect real people. The Transformation Project Advocacy Network shares the stories of the transgender community in South Dakota. We want our elected officials to hear the stories of transgender individuals so that they can see them as real people that are an important part of the fabric of South Dakota, as opposed to being an “issue.”

To do that, we reach out to our legislators to form relationships with them so that they can hear these stories firsthand.

In addition to our work, we equip the transgender community and their families to help empower them to be advocates.

Visibility matters. Representation matters. And today, on Pans*xual and Panromantic Awareness and Visibility Day, we celebrate the fluidity, inclusion, and connection that pan identities bring to the world. 🌈✨ Pans*xuality refers to s*xual or romantic attraction to individuals regardless of gender or s*x. Panromantic individuals experience romantic attraction without gender limitations, though this attraction is not necessarily s*xual and emphasizes emotional connection.

Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Harvey Milk, a trailblazing activist and the first openly gay elected official in California. His courage, vision, and unwavering commitment to equality continue to inspire generations. His famous words, “Hope will never be silent,” remind us that advocacy, community, and love are forces for change.🌈✨️

Becoming Visible Magazine Vol. 4 - Each year, a courageous group of people has stepped forward to share their stories, hoping that you will learn a little more about your trans, Two-Spirit and LGBTQ neighbors in large and small towns across our beautiful state.

Each person is unique in their history. However, the common concern of almost everyone who shared their story was the desire for more communication and support from the people in our state.

International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia is a reminder that homophobia, transphobia, and biphobia are not abstract concepts. They show up in policies, in healthcare access, in schools, in workplaces, and in the daily lives of LGBTQ+ people. And they are challenges we can change through collective action.🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Our elders fought for visibility when it was dangerous, built community when resources were scarce, and pushed forward movements that continue to shape our rights today. Their stories remind us that progress is never accidental — it’s built through decades of resistance, care, and collective action.

📮The Dept. of Housing and Urban Development is officially accepting public comments on the Trump admin’s proposal to repeal the Equal Access Rule! The Equal Access Rule helps prevent housing discrimination against LGBTQI+ people. Submit a comment urging HUD to preserve the rule here: https://transequality.org/earcomment
