Advocates for Trans Equality Last month, the Trump administration rolled out a new rule that severely restricts Medicaid and CHIP coverage of transition-related care for youth patients. This rule endangers trans youth and their families by putting even more barriers between patients and essential healthcare. *Everyone* deserves access to the care they need to thrive.

Here, we answer some of the most frequently asked questions about the rule and break down how it could impact you and your loved ones.

Meet Alex (she/her) - “I think there’s a very large part of me that fears the undiscovered parts of my life or the paths that I did not take, and that can be overwhelming and actually very problematic because it gets in the way of me exploring the life that I do have. But in smaller doses, I think that energy, that impetus is healthy, and it’s what drove me to live here and continually welcome life changes that I cannot predict.”

Committee opportunities include:
• Gala Planning
• Fundraising
• Programming
• Endorsements

You do not need to be a TPAN board member or have previous committee experience to participate. We are looking for people who care about our mission and want to contribute their time, ideas, skills, or community connections.

Whether you enjoy planning events, developing creative fundraising ideas, shaping advocacy programming, or helping with our political endorsement process, there is a place for you to get involved!

Today we celebrate trans rights pioneer Marsha P. Johnson.💛🏳️‍⚧️

Marsha P. Johnson was a fearless transgender activist and drag queen. Known for her pivotal role in the LGBTQ+ rights movement. Born in 1945, she was a prominent figure in the Stonewall Uprising of 1969, a catalyst for the modern LGBTQ+ right movement.

Marsha's advocacy extended beyond Stonewall, as she co-founded STAR (alongside Sylvia Rivera) to support homeless transgender and LGBTQ+ youth. Her relentless efforts helped lay the foundation for greater acceptance and legal protections for transgender individuals.

Tragically, her life was cut short in 1992, but her legacy lives on as a symbol of resilience, courage, and the ongoing fight for transgender rights. Marsha P. Johnson's unwavering commitment to justice continues to inspire and empower marginalized communities worldwide.
