Unmuted Mental Wellness Most people have been impacted by suicide in one way or another. I know I have. Suicide prevention is such important work. We NEED to be talking about this.

Workplace mental health education programs that create ripple effects — your organization's investment sponsors wellness and education for South Dakota's youth in schools, detention centers, and community organizations. Events like this are so important for communities all across the country. It's a chance to give a voice to our loved ones-victims and survivors alike. The topic of Suicide still carries some stigma, but it is becoming much more acceptable to talk about it. Resources are continuing to be more readily available than they used to be, but we still have so much more work to do. Everyone works hard for their money, especially these days. Please know that each and every dime that is donated goes towards Suicide Prevention entirely. That means more frontline workers and more education and support for them as well. This isn't easy work, but we know how important it truly is. It means improved harm reduction responses. It means more interventions & treatments available for anyone struggling or impacted. It means removing that financial barrier for some. I could go on and on...

🌇 Saturday Evening: Nourishing Your Rest

As Saturday night winds down, prioritize genuine rest over active entertainment to get the absolute most out of your weekend.

Try a Magnesium-Rich Snack: A handful of pumpkin seeds, almonds, or a banana before bed can help relax muscles and promote deeper sleep.

Gentle Bedtime Mobility: Do 5 minutes of slow, breathing-focused stretches (like Child's Pose or Cat-Cow) on the carpet.

Disconnect to Reconnect: Put your devices in another room an hour before bed so your sleep isn't disrupted by middle-of-the-night notifications.

Rest deeply and recharge your battery! 🥑🌙✨

Weekdays are governed by alarms and schedules—let Saturday morning belong entirely to you!

Skip the Snooze Button: Wake up naturally if you can, or set a pleasant, gentle alarm sound.

Savor Your Morning Coffee: Take 10 minutes to enjoy your morning drink without multitasking or scrolling through news.

Get Natural Daylight: Step outside for 5–10 minutes within an hour of waking to set your circadian rhythm for the rest of the weekend.

🌇 Friday Evening: Transitioning into Weekend Mode

The work week is officially wrapped! Create a clear mental boundary between "work mode" and "weekend mode" so you can fully recharge.

Close Your Tabs: Shut down all work-related browser tabs, close your laptop, and log off work messaging apps.

Change Out of Work Clothes: Immediately switch into comfortable lounge clothes to give your brain a physical cue that work is done.

Do Something Just for Fun: Whether it's cooking a favorite meal, catching up with a friend, or reading a good book, start your weekend with something that brings you joy.

Celebrate the week’s wins and enjoy your evening! 🥂📚✨

🌅 Friday Morning: The "Finish Strong" Mindset

It’s Friday! Before you mentally check out for the weekend, finish the week on your own terms with a smart morning strategy.

Tackle the "Frog" First: Pick the biggest, most lingering task on your list and finish it before noon so it doesn't hang over your weekend.

Micro-Movement Snacks: Take a quick 60-second walk or do a quick stretch every hour to keep your energy up through the afternoon.

Express Gratitude: Take 30 seconds to send a quick thank-you message to a colleague or friend who helped you out this week.

Let’s wrap up the week with intention! 👏🎉☕

🌇 Thursday Evening: Reclaiming Your Environment

A cluttered living space often leads to a cluttered mind. Spend just 10 minutes tonight setting up your home so Friday morning feels effortless.

The "10-Minute Nightly Reset": Set a timer and do a quick sweep—put dishes in the dishwasher, toss laundry in the hamper, and wipe down kitchen counters.

Prep Tomorrow’s Launchpad: Put your keys, wallet, bag, and outfit out where you can grab them without searching in the morning.

Calm Soundscapes: Play soft instrumental music or ambient sound while winding down to signal to your brain that work is over.

A little prep tonight makes tomorrow morning smooth sailing! 🏠✨🎶

🌅 Thursday Morning: Fueling Brain Power
Thursday is all about protecting your focus and mental energy as you near the finish line of the work week!

Protein-First Breakfast: Swap sugary pastries for eggs, Greek yogurt, or a protein smoothie to keep blood sugar stable and avoid the 10 AM crash.

Set a "Daily Top 3": Write down the 3 non-negotiable tasks you want done today—everything else is extra.

Hydrate for Concentration: Even mild dehydration drains cognitive focus. Keep a refillable water bottle right next to your workstation.

Set your mind up for a smooth, focused day! 🍳🧠💧

🌇 Wednesday Evening: The Unwind Movement

Spent most of the day sitting in a chair or staring at a desk? Your posture and hips take the brunt of sedentary workdays.

Legs-Up-The-Wall Pose: Spend 5–10 minutes lying on your back with your legs resting vertically against a wall. It reverses circulation, relieves lower back pressure, and lowers heart rate.

Chest-Opener Stretch: Clasp your hands behind your back and pull your shoulders down to counter "computer posture."

Evening Walk & Talk: Take a slow 15-minute stroll around the neighborhood without checking your phone—just listen to music, a podcast, or the outdoors.

Help your body shake off the workday tension! 🧘‍♂️🌳✨
