Today, MRHD was proud to celebrate the 2026 Economic Development Match Grant (EDMG) award with the City of Sioux City Neighborhood Services Division.

MRHD awarded $1 million to support the City’s Star Apartments project, a major investment in housing and continued neighborhood revitalization in Sioux City.

The Economic Development Match Grant is designed to help make transformational projects possible by leveraging MRHD funding alongside significant local investment. We’re excited to see the impact this project will have on our community for years to come.

Congratulations to the Sioux City, Iowa Government, Heartland Counseling Services Inc., and Plains Asset Group for bringing this project forward and to fruition!

Congrats to the Moville Community Development Association, Inc., the Moville United Methodist Church, the Crittenton Center, and the many volunteers, donors, and community partners who made the Moville Area Childcare Center a reality!

MRHD is proud to have partnered in this transformative project through a $450K Economic Development Match Grant. Access to childcare is more than a family resource, it's an investment in economic and workforce development, and supports the long-term vitality of our rural communities.

Applications for MRHD’s 2026 Economic Development Match Grant program are now OPEN through June 30!

MRHD will award up to $1,000,000 in competitive grant funding to support transformative economic development projects in Woodbury County that strengthen our workforce, expand opportunity, improve quality of life, and create lasting community impact.

Eligible applicants include local governments, tax-exempt organizations, and educational institutions located in Woodbury County. Awards range from $250,000 to $1,000,000 and require a dollar-for-dollar match.

Past investments have helped support childcare expansion, workforce development, healthcare and mental health services, entrepreneurship, community infrastructure, and major quality of life projects throughout Siouxland.

Today we awarded $500,000 in Target Grants to 35 nonprofits, local governments, and educational institutions throughout Siouxland to help turn their unmet needs into reality!

Hats of to all the city staff, local elected officials, volunteers, businesses, and citizens that showed up and showed out for Correctionville‘s Party with a Purpose! They received a $2,500 Community Event Grant to host the event, which truly embodied the intent of this grant program. Once again, congrats and thanks again for all that you do!

Congratulations to the Sergeant Bluff Community Foundation for completing their Light Tunnel Project at the Sergeant Bluff Parks & Recreation Complex! They received a $25,000 Impact Match Grant for this $150,000 project which connects the local walking trail to the new Loess Hills Scenic Trail and will surely become a new local landmark for all to see and enjoy!

Today, we were proud to award 15 nonprofits and local governments a total of $50,000 to support events that bring people together, strengthen community connections, and enhance quality of life across Woodbury County!

These events will create opportunities for residents and visitors alike to connect, celebrate, and experience all that our communities have to offer.
