Our 2026 Economic Development Match Grant is now open, with $1,000,000 available to support projects that create jobs, grow our economy, strengthen our workforce, and enhance quality of life across Siouxland.

Applications for MRHD’s 2026 Economic Development Match Grant program are now OPEN through June 30!

MRHD will award up to $1,000,000 in competitive grant funding to support transformative economic development projects in Woodbury County that strengthen our workforce, expand opportunity, improve quality of life, and create lasting community impact.

Eligible applicants include local governments, tax-exempt organizations, and educational institutions located in Woodbury County. Awards range from $250,000 to $1,000,000 and require a dollar-for-dollar match.

Past investments have helped support childcare expansion, workforce development, healthcare and mental health services, entrepreneurship, community infrastructure, and major quality of life projects throughout Siouxland.

Congratulations to the Sergeant Bluff Community Foundation for completing their Light Tunnel Project at the Sergeant Bluff Parks & Recreation Complex! They received a $25,000 Impact Match Grant for this $150,000 project which connects the local walking trail to the new Loess Hills Scenic Trail and will surely become a new local landmark for all to see and enjoy!

Join us this morning as we will be announcing the recipients of our 2026 Community Event Grant today at 11:00 AM at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – Sioux City (Encore Hall).

We’re excited to award $50,000 to 15 local organizations supporting community events across Woodbury County! From festivals and cultural celebrations to family-friendly activities and community gatherings, these events help bring people together and enhance quality of life throughout our region.

This event is open to the public, and we’d love to have you join us as we celebrate these amazing organizations and the impact they’ll make in our communities.

We visited the Danbury Rec Center to see the renovations and improvements made possible through MRHD’s $75,000 Impact Match Grant.

The transformation is impressive, check out the before & after photos!

The updates maximize the space and will help the facility better serve the youth and residents of Danbury and the surrounding rural communities for years to come.

We’re proud to share that the Iowa Racing & Gaming Commission has unanimously approved the renewal of MRHD’s gaming license in Woodbury County!

MRHD’s Board President and Hard Rock’s General Manager appeared before the Commission to highlight the strong partnership between MRHD and Hard Rock, and shared several strategic and collaborative efforts underway to benefit the Siouxland community.

They discussed how the partnership continues to drive economic activity, enhance local amenities, and support community organizations through MRHD’s grant programs.

Together, MRHD and Hard Rock remain committed to reinvesting gaming revenues back into the community and strengthening the quality of life across the region.

We appreciate the Commission’s continued confidence in MRHD and our partnership with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City as we work to create lasting community impact.
