Well, Entrepalooza 2026 is in the books. Thank you to all that participated.

We have a special thanks to SEDC for sponsoring the week of events. Last night we held our 16th Swimming with the Sharks (Siouxland) pitch competition and we would like to acknowledge the organizations that provided the grant money.

Now on to the winners of the 2026 Swimming with the Sharks (Siouxland).
1st Place Winnie's $2,500
2nd Place Brekkies $1,500
3rd Place Sewn2Dance $1,000

Also competing were Persha and Lymonade.

Cue the Jaws theme, the Sharks are circling for the 16th annual Swimming with the Sharks at Briar Cliff University tonight. Come watch our five finalists vie for a piece of $5,000 to help grow their small businesses. The fun starts at 6:30 pm in the St. Francis Center - we’re going to need a bigger boat.

A big congratulations to Sandy Puterbaugh, the winner of the Love a Local drawing. She named A Piece of Cake, a bakery in LeMars, as her favorite small business. She said,

Monday, February 23 - Kickoff Talk - Stacie Anderson, entrepreneur,
Interim Director of Explore Siouxland. 7 pm St. Francis Center, BCU.
Tuesday, February 24 - Love a Local - Show some Love to a small, local business and possibly win $100 at that business. Love a Local page.
Wednesday, February 25 - AI Made Simple: How Your Digital Sidekick Can Save You Time – Kristen Perez. Free presentation on how AI can help a small business. 7 pm St. Francis Center, Stark Student Center, BCU.
Thursday, February 26 Swimming with the Sharks. Five finalists pitch their businesses to possibly win a grant for their business. Five thousand dollars are available and finalists find out that night if they have won some of the grant money.
