❤️🪩 WHY WE DANCE: KARI & MIKE

Mike Winklepleck is used to being the one on the sidelines calling the plays. On Tuesday night, the East High head football coach is going to have to follow a few instead. 💃🏈

Mike and Kari have traded the football field for the dance floor and spent the past several weeks practicing, fundraising and stepping WAY outside their comfort zones for a cause that matters.

They’re dancing to help individuals and families in our community access mental health and substance use treatment when they need it.

And Coach knows better than anyone that when the game is on the line, every point counts. 👀

A huge thank you to Natalie Behnken, Kaelyn Schutter and Karley Hagge from the Briar Cliff University Dance Team for sharing their time and talent with our first Dancing for Recovery-hosted by Rosecrance Jackson Centers ❤️

Led by Coach Madison Mahr, they’ve been working behind the scenes with Becca & Rick Feauto on their routine, and in less than two weeks, we finally get to see all that hard work hit the dance floor!

A new chapter for care in Downtown Sioux City

We were proud to celebrate the completion of our newly renovated and expanded space at 800 5th Street with a ribbon cutting alongside the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce.

This location brings multiple services together in one place so individuals and families can more easily connect with the care and support they need, including substance use treatment, mental health services, therapy, peer support, case management, psychiatric medication management, and MAT services.

As we celebrate 50 years of serving our communities, this space represents continued growth, greater access, and our ongoing commitment to meeting people where they are.

A special thank you to the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and the South Sioux City Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism, to our special guests, board members, President’s Leadership Council members, staff, community partners, and Chamber Ambassadors who joined us to mark the occasion. Your support helps make milestones like this possible.

We’re excited for what this space will mean for the people and families we serve in Siouxland.

This week is Mental Illness Awareness Week.

Mental illness affects millions of people each year, yet stigma can still make it difficult to talk about mental health or reach out for help. Mental Illness Awareness Week is an opportunity to change that- by increasing understanding, listening to people with lived experience, and reminding our communities that mental health conditions are treatable and recovery is possible.

This year's theme from NAMI is "Turning Science into Hope". It highlights the progress being made in understanding mental illness and developing more effective approaches to treatment and care. Continued research is helping us better understand what works and to give individuals and families more reason to hope for recovery.

At Rosecrance Jackson Centers, we're here to help turn that hope into action. If you or someone you care about is struggling with mental health, our team can help identify your needs, connect you with the right services, and provide treatment and support along the way.
