Engineer's Club of Siouxland An Organization to Promote the Welfare of Engineering Conrad W. The group consisted of the following: Conrad W. Kline, C.E. Murphy, Paul D. Cook, C.C. White, Mr. Wm.

On May 5, 1937 a group of gentlemen representing the engineering profession and allied businesses of Sioux City met at the West Hotel at the request of Mr. Kline, Mechanical Engineer, for the purpose of discussing the organization of the Sioux City Engineer’s Club. Younglove, William Greene, Frank Ryder, K.B. Hyson and Mr. Dougherty. At this meeting a committee composed of C.C. Younglove, acting a

s chairman, John McDonald and Frank Ryder was appointed to prepare a constitution and by-laws. On May 19, 1937, this committee reported and the constitution was adopted. Also at this meeting Mr. Kline was elected president of the organization. In 2012 the Engineers Club of Siouxland will be celebrating 75 years as an Organization. We have established an endowment fund that in the future will generate funds for scholarships indefinitely. Please join us for lunch anytime! The Engineers Club meets every Wednesday noon at the Golden Corral in the Lakeport Commons. We learn a great deal about our local Community, new ventures, new techniques, and even new organizations from our weekly programs. The Club has 12 members on the Executive Board and each finds programs for one month of the year. This way we get a variety of subjects covered. LADIES EVENT The Ladies Event involves dinner and possibly entertainment with the spouses of our members held in early spring. Some of our recent Ladies events have involved: Hole in the Wall Lodge – Tour and dinner at the Lodge Orpheum Theater – Movie the Great Gatsby and dinner at the Theater Sioux City Police Department Bag Piper’s performance with dinner at Beano and Sherry’s Casino ANNUAL PICNIC The Engineers Club holds an Annual Picnic in August to supplement our Scholarship Program. This scholarship is open to Siouxland area High School graduates for the current year that are enrolled in an engineering curriculum. Attendance at the picnic is open to all of its members and their guests. As an incentive to attend, we hold several contests, raffle drawings and a door prize drawing along with a catered meal.
