What: 18th Kingdom of Riverssance Festival

Where: Riverside Park, 1301 Riverside Boulevard

When: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

More: This family-friendly renaissance festival features professional jousting; performances by Birds of Prey, aerial pirates and sword swallowers; games, such as chicken chucking and rat pucking; hundreds of characters in garb; dozens of vendors, and more.

Children under 6 get in for free. Advance tickets are available at Sioux City and South Sioux City HyVee stores through September. Tickets are also available at the gate.

The King's Pirate's Smoker, a private adult party, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday. The party features renaissance period fun, a turkey leg, cigar and wench-served brew. Tickets are available at the pub.
