GED and ESL Classes starting in October. Pre-registration ongoing. Call today and sign up!

Registration forms are available at your local library or by calling: 361-587-3535. Classes available in Ingleside, Portland, Taft, Odem, and Aransas Pass. Email: [email protected]


Adults 17 years & older residing or employed in San Patricio County are eligible to participate in classes to learn or improve their reading, writing, speaking, or comprehension skills in English. These s

ervices are provided at no cost to the student. Executive Director: Christina Jolly

The Board of Directors serve as the governing body of the corporation; serve three year terms; provide leadership in achieving the mission statement and in strategic planning; guide and mediate board actions; actively participate in recruitment, mentoring and training; serve as liaison with related groups in the community; attend meetings and organization functions; and adhere to SPCALC By-Laws, Policies and Procedures. Our classes have started and we want to share one of the ways you can support our students and our program.

We have created a wish list on Amazon. Some of the items on there will help our students and some are for our teachers. We have some items that will replenish our outreach supply of giveaways we do, Our calendar is starting to fill up we with all the Fall events.

They are more than Teachers !!! ♥️🫶🏻🎉

Today we invested in our GED teachers. We had an amazing presentation by Dr. Fernando Fuentes.

Our training today reminded the teachers it’s often difficult for our students to pursue opportunities they don’t know exist. 💫

They were reminded of the many roles they play in lives of our students.

Did you know her passion for literacy was personal? Her father could not read or write. 📚📝

She started Dolly Parton‘s Imagination Library in 1995. They have given more 332 million books all for free! 🫶🏻💗

Over the years she supported numerous literacy organizations. We honor her commitment to literacy. Rest in peace Dolly ♥️
